pam Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 The importance of cleaving to covenants. Covenant is a contract made between God and Man. God fixes the terms which man accepts. Cleave means to adhere closely to something. In the early church, Joseph Smith was anxious that the Saints have the blessings of the covenants of the temple. The sisters then were promised that the endowment would bring them out of the darkness and into the light. We covenant to do good. We are a covenant people and the temple is the center of those covenants. Great are the blessings we receive as we cleave to our covenants. As people keep their covenants they feel joy even in the face of trials. When people sift through our belongings after we die, will they find evidence that we kept our covenants? Quote
