Hi I'm Maximo,

I'm new here. I will be honest I am a not a member of LDS church although I have always been interested in knowing more about it. What is fascinating to me is LDS's stance on preparedness.

As you know preparedness is essential in this terrible economic situation that we are presently in.

I have made it my personal mission to learn and share all that I have learned and will learn with all that I come in contact with. I hope I can share my knowledge on food storage and preservation and in turn I hope I can learn from the vast resources of the LDS community.

Hi Maximo - welcome!

Yes indeed, food storage is fairly ingrained in our culture. The broader context of preparadness, maybe not so much. The church pushes self reliance and provident living as hard as it can, many of us don't do much with that counsel, others of us take it in all sorts of fun directions. Have a look through the Preparadness forum on this site, and maybe start a thread or two.
