Having always had an appreciation for the look of piercings and jewelry, in the 9th grade I had a second set of ear piercings. Some time later, President Hinckly instructed us to stick to one pair, so I took out that second set of earrings.

Consider the length of time between then and now.

That second set of holes has STILL not grown in. There is no infections per say, but every now and then they get a little sore and pus-filled. Nothing extreme or gross, mind you, but I'm flummoxed this is still going on after so many years.

Any tips?

Why would they? Assuming that is they were healed over when you stopped putting earrings in them.

I suspect it's a cleanliness issue, not that your ears are filthy mind you, but dirt, debris, soap, and other irritants could be getting trapped in the hole and irritating the skin surrounding it periodically.

I have 23 piercings. Some in the ears and some other places. They have all been removed within the last three years except for one hole in each ear. Some of them have closed up but the ones that didn't have never had any puss.. You may need to give each earlobe a good cleaning with some alcohol wipes. As Dravin pointed out, they may be irritated from the build up of various things (ie. soap residue, body oil, dirt etc). Worse case scenario, you may have an infection going on, in which case you should probably get it looked at. Bottom line, you shouldn't be having any puss coming out of your piercings if you've kept them clean.

I would advise not using Flummox. That stuff is apparently not keeping out the pus. I would switch to another brand. Also, consider writing a review on Amazon for it so others don't make the same mistake.
