sunny_surfer Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I have no problem with immigration to or from Canada..... The people I know of who come down here dont' have a problem working with the rules and regs or our country... As most of us "Yanks" would follow your rules and regs in your country. I think that the only problem we have up north is the terrorists, and the drug dealers who take advantage of Canada's good nature and use the country as a means to gain entrance into ours. I love Canada, and I would like to visit and be welcomed :)Well i have to say that i think your a little mistake with your information. I have no idea where you got the idea that terrorist are coming from the canadian border because that is completely false. canada is very tight when it comes to the people they let in and who are here illegally and i dont have to remind you on how successful the canadian secret service was on capturing the home grown terrorist (which is what im assuming your talking about) a few months ago, that was all over CNN.. as for the drugs statistics show that about 80% of the drugs coming into the country are from the US, not to mention all the fire arms that are crossing the borders as well. Now as for the immigration thing as one who lives in cali havent you guys ever read the book of mormon where it states that the laminites shall flurish like a rose in the desert.anyways been a pleasure writting on here since im new to this site so thanks for reading Quote
boyando Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 I like P.C.'s idea with a few mod's. Spanish is a second langauge, not first. Welfare is short term. All lawyer's in the new US of NA are buried up to there neck in cement, until more cement can be found. States that are now Mexico, get to keep the prison system and harden criminals are moved south, if they mess up. The price of salsa has to come down. $4.00 a small jar is crazy. I hope no one will cut down my dream. I'm looking forward to my winter home in Baja. Your friend, asking were do I go to vote - allmosthumble Quote
lisajo Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 I have no idea where you got the idea that terrorist are coming from the canadian border because that is completely false.I guess you forgot about the ones who came across your border in 1999, who were going to blow up (i belive it was something in seattle) on the eve of 2000. Ya it was big news then...has been forgotten since 911,I have yet to visit Canada and i hope i get to some day Quote

But is it really a good idea to keep the status quo?Good hardworking people are walking across the border along side of hardened criminals. The good ones get here and the first thing they do is buy illeagle ss cards, so they can work. Most don't know better because thats the way things are done in Mexico. My point is simple, make it easy for those who are willing to work. Make second generation immigrants know they have to fallow the same rules as everyone else. And teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are willing to learn, no matter what the color of there skin is. Your friend - allmosthumble Quote

What i dont like hearing is the USA blamming canada for there policies of being to liberal on immigration. Having lived in canada and now living in the US you can definatly see the differance in culture from both countries. the USA is more immigrate and assimilate where as the canadian goverment and canadians are encouraged to bring there culture and add it to the Canadian culture, thus canada has gained a numerous reputation as being a very muti cultural country where segregation is not an issue. I for the immigration issue i mean this is really becomming not a issue of immigration but is slowly becoming an issue of race. I can tell you for sure that people have just looked at me and told me to get out of there country and go back to central america, just because i look a certain way they atomatically assume. I mean just curious but how many people here actually support the so called minute men? Who in my oppinion are just another KKK. anyways my final point is that as members of the church you should be considerate to all people and races one is not better then another and we should be very considerate in the ways we address this situation, i mean lets remember that when the world ends there arent going to be any borders right Quote
Dr T Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 I thought LDS believed in at least 3 borders (including outer darkness) in the concept of heaven? Quote
sunny_surfer Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 I believe those are worlds not borders...plus would it honestly big such a big deal if it were europeans immigrating here and not mexicans? Quote
JoshuaFKon Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 would it honestly big such a big deal if it were europeans immigrating here and not mexicans?Historically, most immigrints were disliked, from the Irish to the Mexicans. Because most people think we live in a "zero-sum" economy. Josh B) Quote
Dr T Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Hey Sunny, is there an "outer part or edge" to a planet/sphere? Quote
sunny_surfer Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Dr.T you are right about that but what i originally wanted to say with the comment i made earlier "when the world ends there are not going to be any borders." I was originally trying to say we will be separated by different stages of glory if you will, and rember those of a higher glory are not bound by there own worlds but can visit those who are in lessor glory then they are. anyways we can argue till the cows come home i just wanted to say that we should be compassionate to those who are coming here and not let this become a hateful argument of one glass of people against another. just to clear things up a little, now im going to lay down cause my head hurts and im still sick :) take care Quote
Dr T Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 I agree with compassion, sir. :) Thanks Quote
