HappyTimes Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 I posted this a couple days ago inside a different thread, but I thought while I'm here, I'll give it its own thread! This video was made by a friend who's in the Army, currently in Afghanistan. It's for his wife, and I thought the song was so sweet, that I am sharing it for him, hoping more people get a chance to let the tow of them know what they think of it. Check it out, comment on it on Youtube, and also let others here or in other places know what you think about it so that they will check it out. Messages of love like this should be spread around! :):):) Quote
pam Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 I thought it was a cute video. The idea behind it was great. If I were the spouse I'd have been thrilled to have received something that was so personal and took so much time to do. My only negative: Being a singer myself, there were times that the attempt at harmony was like fingernails on a chalkboard. I would have left the harmony out. Just my opinion since you were asking. HappyTimes Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 Well, the fingernails on a chalkboard may be taking it a little too far, but the comment is appreciated. I'll quote him to explain things a bit. "...There were a lot of things that I wanted to fix, like some flat notes, bad harmony, poor recording environment, etc... But ultimately I ran out of very limited free time in a place without a ton of background noise, and made the decision to put it together the best I could with my zero experience in mixing music. With those limitations, I'm proud of how it came out, and glad she loves it! Maybe someday soon I'll get a chance to redo it and make it sound the way it should." I know what you're thinking. Limited free time and bad recording environment in Afghanistan in a war zone? Nonsense. I still think it's great, and inspiring. I say, keep up the great work! Quote
