I can't tell by your comment if this is a "can of worms" for you because you think it possible that God has multiple wives or that you don't.

Well if God commands polygamy, I guess that means I can go out and get a couple more husbands...

Why has this never occured to me before?????

In a separate thread, someone asked the following question:

In Genesis 22, we find the story of Abraham being commanded

to sacrifice Isaac. Why is Isaac called Abraham's "only son" when he

had an older half-brother, Ishmael (via Sarah's maid, Hagar)?

Now, because the sacrifice of Isaac is clearly a foretelling of Christ's sacrifice, how much of the surrounding story is representative of the situation surrounding Heavenly Father?

For instance, could this indicate that Lucifer is an older spiritual half-brother to Jesus from another of Heavenly Father's wives?

I know this is opening a few separate cans of worms regarding the existence of a Heavenly Mother to begin with, let alone two of them, but in some ways it would explain Lucifer's situation in an interesting manner. For instance it would partially explain why Lucifer was 'in authority in the presence of God', or said another way according to my understanding, he conducted official meetings.

(I hope this doesn't get locked right off the bat)

Thank you for sharing, definitely something interesting to think about. If it is in no way contrary to church teachings then it could very well be revelation. The great thing about the gospel, as you know, is that we are left with a lot of open ended questions. I know for sure it makes me think a lot. If you believe it is revelation, don't let nobody else push you off that. I am sure they have received revelations that you don't agree with. What I am trying to say is that could very well be revelation.

That wasn't my question to you, but okay. One is enough for me.

I was asking what you thought God's situation was, not what He commanded man to do.

When I said God commands polygamy, perhaps I should have been more clear by saying

"It is generally understood that God has allowed and even commanded polygamy in the past, while at other times specifically forbidding it."

I had assumed most of us here understood that and I was wrong to do so. My apologies.
