mnn727
I do see it as bad. Debt is bad, no matter what kind of debt it is. Some debt is more necessary than others--house, school, car. But, regardless, we should live below our income--pay a little extra on the debt to pay it off. Our financial goal has always been that all bills must be able to be paid on either of our salaries. (no kids at home and DW works) We always pay off our loans early.
talisyn
I blame the parents. I've raised my oldest daughter to think we are terribly poor, so she asks for big things only on her birthday and Christmas
SanctitasDeo
I blame the parents. I've raised my oldest daughter to think we are terribly poor, so she asks for big things only on her birthday and ChristmasI tend to think the same way because my family was poor when I was younger. I live the same way, even though I have my own family. But we are also debt-free, thankfully.
Star_
· Hidden Hidden I wonder if anyone else was surprised to see people accessing scriptures, church materials on their smart phones/devices. I was more surprised to see elderly church members do it. Bringing your tangible scriptures to church is becoming a thing of the past for all generations. Star_
· Hidden Hidden Shame on all of us, no matter what generation, for accessing the internet. There was a time when people lived with no internet... I like my laptop and internet. :) Edited February 5, 2013 by Star_ Link to comment
trubludru
A couple of years ago I used to let a room in my house out to a friend before he got married. A source of friction was that he always seemed to be able to afford a nice smartphone but always struggled to pay rent. He didn't understand why I wasn't ok with him being behind on rent when he had a new phone that cost several hundred dollars with a bill that was probably at least $60 a month. There is a bit of a disconnect with some people as to what is affordable and important to have.
