Nye shot it down. The one bloviating about the possibility was one of yours. ;)

"One of yours"? When did I say I ever agreed with the global warming claim?

I was just distracted from the dig attempt by Bill Nye The Science Guy...

Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill!

Is this what you say in American fast food restaurants instead of

"Could we have the bill, please?"....

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck but it needs batteries, you probably have the wrong abstraction.

Or you're recognizing you have simply a mechanic duck and probably the right abstraction...

. It will all make sense. :P

Bill Nye the Science Guy! Bill Nye the Science Guy! Bill Nye the Science Guy! :o

Okay, now it makes more sense for me. He is talking about evolution. I think evolution is the slow and perpetual, universal process of adjustment and optimization, and another determing factor is mutation. And mutation may have exogenous reasons (radiation, i.e. gamma ray, poisonous substances) or endogenous reasons (like errors in DNS replication etc.). The result of a mutation can be the beginning of the formation of a new species. In my personal opinion the divine factor in this connection is the development of intelligence, knowledge, empathy, and cognition.

I think that Bill Nye doesn't have an easy job, as I've heard that approx. 45 % of the Americans seemingly believe that our planet is not older than 6,000 years and deny evolution...

"Mr President, we cannot allow a meteor gap."

Time to fire up our own tests.

But not in direction to Germany, please.
