Sharky Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 How long do the Endowment Sessions take?A member of my ward just asked me, I guess they are planning to do a temple session before meeting with a Patriarch, so they were trying to plan & schedule things.I initially said about 2 hours entrance to exit, assuming they hit reasonably close to a session time. But then I started thinking I am not sure I have made the 4 hour trek to the Temple since the new film came out & I've heard the sessions take a little a longer.I know they'll probly need a little extra time to change before & after. I'm sure they can compensate for that if I can get them a fairly accurate "regular" time frame to expect to need to complete a session. Thanks! Quote
Jenamarie Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 It depends on how many people are in the session and the size of the Temple. I've been 3 hours in the Temple for an Endowment at one of the mini-temples, because the session was full, and I ended up in the very back, and so was the last one to go into the Celestial Room, and then nearly everybody else beat me to the changing room, so I had to wait my turn to get back into my locker with my things and get changed back into my regular clothes. (wow, long sentence!) In a regular-sized Temple getting back into my locker as soon as I was done was never an issue, but then the sessions could hold a lot more people, and so if you ended up in the back of the room you could still end up being there a while. So anyway, I'd schedule 3 hours, just to be on the safe-side. I'd rather block out too much time than too little. Quote

I use to always just plan 2 hours realizing that sessions frequently start hourly .... just not sure since I've heard a endowment ceremony itself now takes a little longer. missmollymormon Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 The endowment video is 12 minutes longer now, not a huge difference. Hope that helps Quote
Daybreak79 Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 At the Oquirrh Mtn Temple I was told to plan on 2 hours to do an endowment session, this is just for the session and does not include changing time. Typically the sessions I have been to, early morning and evening are full, but it is a some what small temple. And ff course this will very depending on how smoothly everything goes and how much time the individuals want to have in the celestial room. You can also just call the temple and ask them how long members should plan for. tubaloth Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 The Endowment is close to an 1 hour 45 mins (really probably 1 42 mins) but give or take the size. For me it usually seems to be close to two hours from the time the session starts to the time we get to the celestial room. Quote
