Lakumi Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemies, letalone people I actually respect. I like missionaries, haven't met a bad one yet, and the net would have you believe they are all really annoying and pushy. My tip, bring a nice sweater or wear something with long sleeves-church is freezing, and after 2 hours I am shivering and wearing my coat and having to go outside to stand in the sun like a common lizard lol Quote
andypg Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Buy cheap scriptures, or at least be prepared to mark them up. Expect to go through a full set at least every 4 years or more. If you want a set for an heirloom or something, have that be separate than your regular scriptures. I prefer the book to the electrionic version, and I highlight them a lot.I have my "nice" genuine leather 2013 Quad as my nice Sunday reading set. For everyday reading and markup I have a hardcopy Book of Mormon and an old used quad I got off ebay for 10 bucks. Quote
Sunday21 Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 Does anyone have any tips on being mormon? Suggestions: never pray for patience. If you do everything will go wrong. If your Bishop calls you to change your life radically e.g. Get married. Stay calm and say "I will fast and pray about that"Never get into a fight with anyone. You may end up home\visiting teaching themIf you are asked to provide meals for a family, lean cuisine is okayIf you can't have the missionaries for dinner, you can bring them a cooler of frozen breaded chicken and ice cream. You can ask for an adjustment to your visiting teaching, e.g. Some wards will let you do it without a companionAn iPod/iPad is easier to lug around than heavy scriptures. Sunday21 Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 If your home teachers call and ask if you can meet them at a specific time that does not work for you, suggest several other times, otherwise you could labelled "difficult". Sunday after church often works well. If your hometeachers are not very diligent, you can call the elders quorum pres and ask him to arrange a blessing for you Quote
