Never quite understood the 72 hour limit on the Safe Haven laws, though I'd have to agree 8 years is really pushing it.

Salt Lake City District Attorney Sim Gill said there are resources available for parents in these situations. He said what this woman did was not acceptable.

It's not acceptable. I feel for her, but that just isn't acceptable.

The void left from being abandoned by a mother can't be filled by anyone else. That poor child will carry the wound the rest of his life.
