Doctrine of Christ – a different perspective?

As it would seem the doctrine of the world would separate man from G-d.  That the essence (spirit) of G-d is eternally unique and distinct from man and never the two to become one (indistinguishable).  However one aspect of the doctrine of Christ – which is the doctrine of Messiah, a Savior, a Mediator and Redeemer is that the Son was born of woman that as the son of a woman, died (as will all mankind) and then resurrected (again as will all mankind).

In this season as we celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ – there are certain points of the Doctrine of Christ that resonate that man and G-d are the same race of being that is unique in this universe.  That Jesus is the bridge that unites and proves man and G-d as one in the same.  That ever depiction of art that depicts Jesus manifests the Christ as a man.

The Doctrine of Christ is spelled out in 2 Nephi 31 and 3 Nephi 11. It is that the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are One God (one Godhead), and that we must become one with them through Faith in Christ, Repentance, Baptism (and other saving ordinances), and Receiving the Holy Ghost.

It is a process of becoming as Christ is, wherein he went from grace to grace, receiving grace for grace (DC 93). As we develop a level of faith in Christ, we recognize our weakness and repent. We are baptized, receive the Sacrament or other ordinance, the Spirit seals us to a higher level of grace and holiness. With increased faith in Christ, we can repeat the process until we are fully holy and one with the Godhead.

Sorry I did not make clear the doctrine to which I was making a reference – I was not referencing the doctrine taught by Christ but the doctrine (including example) we are taught concerning who and what the Christ (Messiah, Savior and Redeemer) is.
