Ike Posted July 25, 2018 Report Posted July 25, 2018 (edited) Whether you have searched for it your whole life or you left with nothing else but mere speculation on the matter, there are 3 questions to life with God's plan of happiness. The 3 questions are:1) Where did we come from before birth?2) Why are we here?3) Where are we going after we die?I hope to provide some insight for each question and ask what you think as wellWhere did we come from before birth-why is this important? In the context of Jeremiah 1:5 we read "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee." We lived as spirit children with God our Heavenly Father. He created us and is the Father of our spirits. This time before we were born is what is known as the "pre-earth life". We knew Jesus Christ and His calling to help us overcome sin and death through His atoning sacrifice that would prepare us to live on earth. An important part of coming to earth was understanding Jesus Christ role in performing the atonement for us. We were given the gift of agency (in other words free-will of choice). "Men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself." (2 Nephi 2:27)Satan rebelled and chose not to follow our Heavenly Father's plan to give us agency, rather, he wanted to force all of God's children to what he wanted. By the use of agency, many chose to follow God's plan, some chose to sadly follow Satan's and were cast out. Those that were cast out would not be given the privilege of having a body and were subject to having only spirits being miserable. Those that chose God's plan had the opportunity to live on earth with physical bodies because of the faith you had in this pre-earth life. Why are we here on earth-why Jesus makes it make sense? We know that God created the earth. He also created who we know as our first parents--Adam and Eve. They lived in a place called the garden of Eden. God gave them a commandment not to partake of a certain fruit; the fruit of knowledge of good and evil. The serpent, (Satan) deceived Eve into partaking the fruit, later Adam then partaking of it. Because of Adam and Even's transgression of eating the forbidden fruit, they became mortal, which separated them from God physically and spiritually. They were subject to physical death and spiritual death or sin. This transitioned into what is known as the Fall. It was necessary, however, for Adam and Eve to become mortal to live on earth. "Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy." (2 Nephi 2:25)God knew we could not make it on our own. We knew that "this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors." (Alma 34:32)Jesus Christ and His Atonement, meaning His loving sacrifice to suffer in the Gethsemane with unspeakable nor what man can comprehend pain He underwent to suffer for each human being's sins that He took upon Himself willingly, His suffering and crucifixion on the cross, and triumphantly His resurrection from the dead. What we show Christ in appreciation for this gift central to our purpose on earth is that we show faith in Him, repent with a broken heart and contrite spirit, willing to be baptize be proper authority, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end; so that one day, we will return to live Jesus and our Father in heaven eternally.Where will we go after we die?-there is hope and a lot of it!One way or another eventually our physical bodies living on earth will eventually die. For some, that has become a major devastation to one's life. To others, it may be dreaded, confusing, or even anticipated. When we die, our spiritual bodies separate from our physical one. What you learned and experience on earth will carry with you to the next. Neither will death change who you are nor your desires for good or evil. Our spirits are sent to a place known as the spirit world. Those that chose to exercise their agency and follow Jesus Christ live in a state of rest and peace which is spirit paradise. The latter, those who chose not to repent and live in sin will not live happily. However, because God's plan of happiness and mercy, He provides a way for them to learn about His gospel and given the chance to show faith and repent from their sins to enjoy peace and rest. You might ask yourself, "okay, but what about those who had not the opportunity to learn about Jesus and His Atonement? Well, the same goes for them too. The gospel is about Jesus' mercy for us if we choose to turn to Him.After our stay in the spirit world, because of Jesus' resurrection all of us, whether we have done good or evil in life will one day all be resurrected. Where both our spirit bodies and physical bodies will be reunited."The soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body; yea, even a hair of the head shall not be lost; but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame." (Alma 40:23)With our resurrection state, we will then be judged by Jesus Christ according to our desires, whether it was good or evil. "The one raised to happiness according to his desires of happiness, or good according to his desires of good; and the other to evil according to his desires of evil; for as he has desired to do evil all the day long even so shall he have his reward of evil when the night cometh." (Alma 41:5)We are then judged to one of 3 kingdoms of glory: Celestial (glory of the sun), Terrestrial (glory of the moon), or Telestial (glory of the stars). Our goal is to have lived our lives in such a way to have been cleansed from sin and have complete happiness with God, Jesus Christ, and your families for eternity and live in the Celestial kingdom. The terrestrial kingdom is simply those who have lived honorable lives but chose not to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ will be given place in this kingdom. The telestial kingdom is of those that chose to continue and sin and not repent of their sins will receive a place in this kingdom."There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
