Franken Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 I'm justa wonderin' now that I'm 16 and all, what all that my parents would be ok with. It's strange now that going out on a date isn't totally against the rules anymore. So yeah... Quote

AFDaw Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 When I was 16, my brother and I had a contract with my parents of what was and wasn't ok. It allowed us to make up some of our own rules, and it made us more accountable to them as well. Quote

LADodger2112 Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Yeah. If they said 16, then go for it. You've been waiting all your life! GO FOR IT! Quote

SmilingRedhead Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 16 huh'?!... Enjoy this age. This is when the real fun starts. :) When I was your age I used to think my parents were really strict as they told me I was only allowed to groupdate at 16, doubledate at 17 and get a boyfriend at 18 - I thought it was sooooo unfair...lol I now understand that they made those rules because they knew what was best for me - as parents usually do... :) You could talk to your parents about your/their expectations of your new 'freedom' and make an agreement with them about curfews etc... :) The more you talk to your parents, the less misunderstanding and arguments there'll be - that's a little tip from my own experience...:) Good luck with your dating! :) Quote
