  1. dont you remember in the temple/synagog where he prounounced himself son of god? then had to slip away through the crowd...
  2. Thank you for your kind words those of you who would have missed me.... However I didnt write this, my IDIOT friend did as a joke on me. I left myself logged on as I always do and he used my computer to check email and did this while I was out of the room. I didnt know until this evening that he'd done that when came to chat. Anyways, On another note, there are a couple of people here that I have wronged on a personal level and for that I want to make a public apology. You know who you are. Setheus.

  4. I wonder if the man who's life was spared because that Elder took the bullet that was meant for him feels the same way you do? I wonder if he complains that there is no God or if he is greatful that the Lord allowed his life to be spared. The Lord does protect His servants. But what is greater? Protection from harm or Sacrifice for the benifit of your brother? And about this "Random" act of violence....I disagree. Something , some series of events had to lead up to that violent act. So it wasnt random it was enevitable due to the FREE AGENCY of man.
  5. Now, FunkyFool416, THAT was the stupidest joke in the world...not Moroni's joke.
  6. there was a big fat lady on a plane who had a yappy poodle. There was also on the same plane next to her a business man smoking a cigar. The woman turned to the man and ask if he could please put out the cigar because the smoke was choking her. The business man replied that he needed the cigar to calm his nerves due to her stupid poodle yapping non stop. This argument went on for a few minutes when the man made an offer, "If I put out this cigar will you please throw that yappy dog out the window?" The fat woman agreed and he put out the smoke and she tossed the dog out the airplane window. A few minutes later the flight attendant walks by and sees something bizarr out the window. "Oh my gosh there's a poodle out on the wing!!.....and it appears to have a kitchen tile in its mouth."
  7. There was this old man who was putting new tile in his kitchen. He was very detailed and careful...he knew that he needed EXACTLEY 99 tiles. So he went to Home Depot and asked for 99 tiles. The store clerk said they only sold in bundles of 10 so he'd have to buy 100 tiles. The old man argued that he only needed 99 so buying the 100th tile was a waste of his money. The clerk assured him there was no way to sell only 99 tiles. ..This went on for several minutes and at last the old man gave in and with much anger agreed to buy all 100 stupid tiles. So the old man gets home and gets to work laying tile..and sure enough just like a puzzle he finishes flawliessly with using only 99 tiles. The old man looked at the 100th tile sitting there, useless and un-needed. The old man became angrier and angerier the more that he thought about having waisted the extra $1.20 for that extra tile he KNEW he wouldnt need. So the old man picked up the tile and started to pace back and forth out on the porch trying to think of what he could use the extra tile for. He couldnt think of a single use for it and just got angrier and angrier until he just lost his temper and threw the tile as hard as he could into the air...
  8. He said "I'll love you till I die", She told him "You'll forget in time" As the years went slowly by, She still preyed upon his mind He kept her picture on his wall, Went half-crazy now and then He still loved her through it all, Hoping she'd come back again Kept some letters by his bed Dated nineteen sixty-two He had underlined in red Every single "I love you" I went to see him just today, Oh but I didn't see no tears All dressed up to go away, First time I'd seen him smile in years He stopped loving her today They placed a wreath upon his door And soon they'll carry him away He stopped loving her today You know, she came to see him one last time. Oh, and' we all wondered if she would. And it kept running' through my mind- "This time he's over her for good."
  9. I'll be in the bathroom for the next little while gagging.... Just kidding.
  10. Also, if the child was concieved out of wedlock that also could be seen as stepping off of God's time. So to turn around and abort would be sin x2. But, as a child concieved in lust, I sure am glad Heavenly Father allowed me to be born to a mother who loves me with all her heart.....and a father who does too.
  11. "Son of God" and "Son of Man" cannot be contradictory terms, because Jesus is called both. I'll tell you what did blow my ship out of the water though. The footnote in my Full Life Study Bible (which happens to have a heavy Pentecostal and Assemblies of God flavor in its notes) contends that the sons of God are probably of the righteous line of Seth, because angels could not marry or have children. I could still be right, but Seth, knowing that you have the full weight of tongues-talking Assemblies of God academia backing your view probably resolves the issue permenantly for you Ah...theological debates make strange bedfollows ← Ok, if you do a search in the bible you will see that Jesus never calls Himself Son of God, but Son of man. That is due to His humility. http://www.blueletterbible.org/tmp_dir/wor...98473-3287.html Son of God http://www.blueletterbible.org/tmp_dir/wor...598613-967.html Son of man ← was it humility or was it out of a deeper understanding of the truth? "Man of Holieness" ring a bell? God is "Man of Holieness" and Christ is "The Son of Man"
  12. What about where the Savior and Only Begotten is refered to as "son of man"? This blows your ship right out of the water.
  13. I'm prior enlisted GM1. I participated in the Seaman to ADM program and graduated with a BS in business from NROTC. My pay grade is equal to all other LT's in the Navy. Comming from the Naval Academy doesnt make your pay grade higher it makes you think you know it all. ← But as an enlisted man, you've probably maxed out. If you were coming out of the Academy as an Officer, you're pay grade would continue to rise. And this was just a side thought. Not what we're really talking about. ← GM1 is Gunners Mate Petty Officer 1st Class. That is a pay grade of E-5. I'm not enlisted anymore but if I was I could still advance to E-9 which is Master Chief Petty Officer. However, I am out of NROTC now *which is just like the Academy* and I am a LT now and will be up for LtCDR within a couple of years. So in short I have not "maxed" out on my pay. I also earn sea pay, jump pay, dive pay, haz duty pay, and eod pay. This is ontop of my base pay of 0-3. Now who's ignorant?

  15. pretty sure I ended this debate moments before it started....
  16. Big deal. Your information is wrong. But you don't know the difference between "latria" and "dulia", do you? Officially, worship of Mary is wrong. Do some catholics cross the line? Yes. Does that make it official doctrine? No. ← Isnt what you practice more signifigant than what you preach? And through a Catholic friend I know that certain pennance is done by praying to Mary. And dont tell me you've never heard someone pray to the Saint of their particular situation. I've watched nuns march through snow early in the morning from their house over to a shrine of Mary, kneel down before it and pray. I've SEEN this with my own eyes. Time to get your nose out of the books and try looking up and noticing whats going on in the present. You're like those Naval academy boys. Because the books and professors say its so, it must be so.... Welcome to the real world and real Catholic practice.
  17. I've been to Rome. I've been to Vatican City. I've sat 8 rows back from Pope John Paul II. I know Catholics. I'm Italian. I know what I mean. "Hail Mary " ring any bells? I know what I'm talking about. Book knowledge and street knowledge are two very different animals Jason.
  18. However, sharing your political and religious views can cause other's minds to expand and bring unity and understanding between different points of view. "The more a man knows the more he forgives." TS and I are both right...so that ends THAT debate
  19. Exactley TS....if we take away guns then everyone will start being stabbed to death. Or, in today's society of lazy slobs who prob dont have enough energy to get into a knife fight we'd start having more bombs set off.
  20. That and you shouldn't have said: "They're good at making stuff up." Just admit you had a brain fart, and move on already. ← LOL Absolutley not. After all the Catholic church holds a conclave where some old men get together and cast ballots on who they think should be the next pope and when the talley is read *sometimes after many many attempts at reaching a majoity vote* they claim its "inspired of God". And by judging by the resume of several former Popes one can see just how "inspired" those men were.... Yes the RCC does make up a lot of stuff. Such as the Tobit with the angel Raphiel.... And the claim to draw their priesthood authority from a direct line back to Peter......And how about the very title of "Pope". Where is that office named in the OT or the NT? Why not Prophet? ....How about praying to Mary, mother of Jesus for a repentance? ....etc etc etc.
  21. Thank you Jason for your tactful and overly graceful post. I should have said "Taught" by the RCC not "created". I am aware of the Mesopotamian origins of the Nephilim.
  22. According to every other Christian religion and non demominational church I've ever attended it is taught that Demons are spirit. And the LDS church teaches that those who kept not their first estate and fell with Satan did not recieve bodies of flesh. That to recieve a body of flesh one had to keep their first estate and come into mortality. What Ben's friend says makes the most sense if there was any demonic involvement in Gen 6. Afterall how can a man with no body impregnate a woman in the flesh? Spiritual sperm? And if you come back with "Well God place His Son in Mary I will reply that the LDS church teaches that God the Father has a body of flesh and bone also. After all if one could have a fullness of joy without a body, why are the devils so eager to get into one? The sons of God were men, be they rulers, rightious, or possessed. They were men. And Nephilim is something created by the Holy Roman Catholic Church. They're good at making stuff up. Look at Mary M. who hung out with Mary and the other Mary. For centuries she was branded a harlot who came to repentance....the Catholic church has only recently renounced that bit of false teaching.
  23. My thoughts. The missionary is the representitive of Christ and His Church. The elders are sent throughout the earth to seek out children of Heavenly Father who will hear His word and seek to Obey His law. They are there to serve God's children and to bless them, and comfort them. They are to be as Christ like as humanly possible. What do we know? We know that someone was about to die...we know someone was about to murder...and then two Servants of the Lord rounded the corner. I am reminded of the scripture "Greater love hath no man than this..." I am reminded that the Lord's house is a house of order. Perhaps...just perhaps, the Lord saw what was about to happen and out of mercy and compassion for either the would be victim ....or the would be killer, sent two of His most worthy and rightious servents to take the place of those who would not be ready for judgement. Perhaps these events will stir into motion the things that need to happen in order to bring either the killer or the intended victim unto repentance? We dont know the mind of the Lord. His ways are not our ways. Weep not for the servant of the Lord who dies in His service. Weep for those who are not yet reconciled with the Lord. Another thought, perhaps an innocent victim, like a small child, or someone outside simply working in thier front yard would have been struck and killed by a stray bullet fired in their direction if not for the Elders causing a distraction which resulted in the rounds being fired in a different direction.... The Lord doesnt waste His materials. His servants played a very important role in some greater good that we are simply not aware. And only He and the elder that now recieves all that is His know what that greater good is...
  24. Excellent Josie. Nice explenation of the Priesthood. Bravo.
  25. the "lack of knowledge of scripture and power of God" Christ was refering to is the power of sealing ordinances. This is also known as the new and everlasting covenant. What Christ was saying is that if you're married *no matter how many times*, unless you are sealed in the new and ever lasting covenant your marriage is voided at death. That is the reason that when we are sealed our vow is "For all time and Eternity" instead of "Until death do you part, or As long as you both shall live".
