Traveler Posted April 11, 2023 Report Posted April 11, 2023 It is not my intention to soil the spiritual significance of the death of Christ and his resurrection. Rather I would point to the lawlessness and corruption by which Christ was condemned to death. There is a very complete and accurate account of the steps of corruption that were taken to accuse Christ in the works of James E. Talmage in chapter 34 of his book “Jesus the Christ”. The only accusation for which the Sanhedrin could find witness of guilt was that Jesus could destroy the sacred temple and in 3 days raise it up again. It is interesting to note that even this was not an accurate witness – because as recorded Jesus had said, “Destroy this temple:”. In essence meaning not him but if the Jews destroyed the temple that he (Christ) would restore it in 3 days. But according to Mark this was a misunderstanding because the temple to which Christ was referencing was his own physical body. At every step, Jesus was denied his rights as a Jew. It is interesting to me how much account is given to law and constitution. The lesson is that law and justice is not maintained or upheld by a constitution – even a constitution inspired by G-d. Rather the justice of a society is only kept to be justice by those that administer the laws as judges, lawyers or servants of the courts that judge and bring judgement of those brought to court. We must also note that the most critical step and influence of secret combinations under the preview of Satan is to ignore all precedents of law and use by whatever means available means to create a crime to make accusation. Jesus was not the first to be accused both falsely and unlawfully by a tribunal so corrupted and as demonstrated by history and current events – not the last either. The Traveler Quote
