broadway Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 As a member, I try hard not to go looking for controversial material. Jason has recommended that I get this CD in order to help me research some things. Though I am open to other perspectives and love strengthening my testimony by finding more truths about my churh, I do not go looking for things that are not 'of the church' so to speak. I see that is is by Deseret Books, so that seems to infer that it would not be anti material. Is this correct? Quote

Kevin Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Uh, Broadway, I don't think you need to worry about using Gospelink. Its been sold by Deseret Book for years and is used by many LDS members. It certainly isn't anti in any way. Quote
broadway Posted May 13, 2004 Author Report Posted May 13, 2004 Holy Cow! $70!!!! uh....I will wait until it comes out on video. Quote
Jason Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 $70 is cheap broadway. I used to have a book library that compared to the CD, and when I sold it I had spent well over $4000.00. (And that was cheap.) Quote
Guest curvette Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Deseret Books only sells material that is church approved. They recently stopped selling any material that has objectionable content of any kind in it. We won't be seeing "Les Miserables" in there anymore, and I suspect the Bible will be next on their cut list. Quote

I think it's one of the most perfect pieces of literature ever. Quote

(And that was cheap.) $4000.00 is way too much money for the average Joe to spend on any research material. Now, if you have the moolah, then what else is better to spend it on than education and the furtherance of spirituality? When I become a better-then-average Joe, I will. But until then, I will be content with my little Mormon Doctrine book and a few Missionary Library books in combination with my scriptures and the internet. Quote
