TIDBIT: what was interesting to note about Astro Physics, something I use to talked about in the early 80s, Blackholes are nothing more than conduits, linking to other universes [exchanging matter]. It seems yesterday or perhaps on Saturday, Yahoo Science page again, talked about another Radio Telescope, noticed matter spewing forth from a Blackhole.

Reading this, I am reminded of so many movies!!! Disney's "The Black Hole" from way back when, or "Frequency" with Dennis Quaid. :)

It is in the bible also. Jesus always acted under the direction of the Father.

We have the words of Jesus Himself. The Father is greater than the Son.

John 14:28 - Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

Jesus Himself admitted that His Father was Greater even of Himself. And even added this.....in one of His Teachings - Clearly teaching that He is being directed by the FATHER.

John 14:10 - Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

There are verses that show the interaction of the Father in respect to the Son. And the meaning is clear. The Father directs the Son as in this NT verse quoted from the Original in the OT.

Also please Notice here when the words 'LORD' or 'GOD' all Caps, means the Father. The words 'God', 'Lord' spelled in this manner means the Son. The bible does not always accurately depict the correct personage when the words 'God, GOD, Lord and LORD are used.' Below it is used correctly, the Father is telling His Son to sit on His POWER side and to be patient until he makes all His enemies thy footstool.

Matthew 22:44 - The LORD [FATHER] said unto my Lord, [Jesus] Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

Psalms 110:1 - A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

You now have at least two witnesses that depicts Jesus and the Father as two Beings....and that the Father is Greater than Jesus. Also It is the Father who directs Jesus to sit at the RIGHT HAND OF The FATHER. You now can no longer deny this truth without facing a penalty in the afterlife.

P/S The Next in line for Authority and Power always sits at the Right Hand side of the king. The left side of God, is called the Glory Side.

Is this something revealed in the Book of Mormon or another LDS scripture? It's a new one for me.

Also, given that Joseph Smith was merely the "translator" of the Book of Mormon and other works, are all of the original "authors" who received God's inspiration to write those books known?

Thank you, in advance, for your responses. This thread has been very interesting. Just for the record, since I am not a regular poster and before anyone jumps to a conclusion about my intentions, I am a Lutheran (obviously) and found this site to gain more information about the LDS faith. Just curious . . . not confrontational! :)

Thank you for your response. The part of MorningStar's post that puzzled me was not the ". . . Under the direction of Heavenly Father" but "Jesus Christ created the earth." I was wondering whether the concept of Jesus Christ as creator of the earth was something revealed in the Book of Mormon as my understanding of Genesis is that God (The Father) was Creator. Can you help me understand?

Perhaps this will help. In a sense, it is always the Father who does the work since He is the source of all things. In this post I will address that..but also much more. Just take it as information that is neither correct nor incorrect. Because such information is bound to be rejected if I try to give to those who are not ready.

John 14:10 - Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

When we are righteous as Enoch, Elijah, Moses we can do the works of these men. Because we are given what is the will of the Father....and the Father can allow His power to flow thru us without destroying us. In other words think of is as us being antennaes. If we are not matched perfectly to the frequency then both the reception and the transmission suffers.

Whether the work of Creation was done by the hand of Jesus, and Micheal and others. It does not matter. For the power, the glory and the kingdom belongs to the Father. And it is the Father that does the work thru us. See the prayer of Jesus...on Our Father who art in heaven....

Almighty and Jehovah:. -- So let us agree that the ancients addressed God first as Almighty then as Jehovah.

Exodus 6:3 - And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

Now that we know more about the God of the OT that created the heavens the earth..let us see what John Revealed concerning this God. Noticed the way I spelled God instead of GOD.

John 1:1 - IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:2 - The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:3 - All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:4 - In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

The Word was with God and we are revealed that all things were made by the Word and not one thing that exist was made without Him.

And John further revealed that it was the Word who was made flesh which we know as Jesus.

Now we cannot have both the Almighty and Jehovah and Jesus as the Word claim to have made the heavens and the earth unless they are all the Being. God does reveal His Nature to us so that we can begin to know Him. We know God as Lord, Counselor, Helper, Immanuel, the Eternal etc. Each of these sliver of truths is for our edification.

Yet, The Father is the source for Love, power, authority, wisdom, knowledge etc. The Light of God contains all of these things and more. This Light of God fills the every bit of the fabric called space. In fact it is also the Fabric. I do not wish to go much deeper into this...

the point I wish to make is that Righteousness and priesthood authority allows men to possess and to use this power according to the will of the Father. Since the knowledge and wisdom and power originates from the Father....it is still the Father doing the works. Whether the man calls Himself Jesus or Enoch or Elijah...

This stuff relates more with the gospel of perfection rather than the Gospel of Repentance. And the Apostles were forbidden from giving much of it in their days. For Jesus mission is also the mission of the Apostles and even today of the LDS. To call men unto repentance.

Paul also said concerning this...."Howbeit we SPEAK [Given orally and not written down] - wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 1 Corinthians 2:6

Jesus said we would do greater works:

John 14:12 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

How can a man do greater works than Jesus if he is not given the knowledge, wisdom and the power to do it?

John and Paul did include a lot of it. Even some of it was in the OT. Only it went unnoticed by those who read it.

1 Samuel 14:29 - Then said Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been en-light-ened, because I tasted a little of this honey.

Luke 11:36 - If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

When Moses was with God he was neither tired, nor hungry nor thirty for Light was sustaining Him and when He came down such as was the Light in Moses...that he shone for 3 days.

Exodus 34:35 - And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

Had it not been for his mission to Israel Moses would have been bodily translated into heaven having being raised in glory before the Lord as Enoch and Elijah had done before him.

Let no man think that he can command mountains and rivers like Enoch or the Seas and plagues like Moses, or raise the dead back to life, like Elijah and Jesus if he is not filled full of light himself.

For no man having darkness in his soul can handle the power of Creation, or of healing or of miracles like the patriarchs and even that of Jesus and then go on to do greater works than Jesus if he is not fully EN-Light-ened.

There is a lot of stuff in this post...Perhaps more than should be given. But we are in the days of the Restitution of all things. I do not expect anyone to accept it. neither can anyone who is not ready for it.
