COUNTRYBEAR's Achievements

  1. We beieve in the exisitance of many gods, but we worship the Eternal Father, Elohiem, through the intermediary of the saviour Jesus Christ whom we reverance.
  2. Sixpacker, yes it takes a certain amount of strenght, testimony, and commitment to stay the course and endure to the end. Those who take offense at trivialites are often looking for a reason to justify their abandonmnet of church. They already have one foot in the world and take only a nuge to move them out of the light. It is therefore important to be careful about how we express our opinions, my self included I am a bit of a grouchy bear too- just ask elgama:). The princile reason for this is that we often dont know where the emotional trip wires are on peole especially new converts or new people to the ward, they may have had bad experiences and need counciling to help them. However often times they wount come ot and say they have issues the only time you know is when the IED goes off. The fall out is always difficult to manage. This is where home teachers, visiting teachers and missionaries can be helpful to allow such people an oportunity to vent if nessacery in the home where they are more likly to fell less vaulnerable.
  3. with so many negative attacks agasinst the sisters, which I fear I have accidentally triggered, it is only fair that the sisters have the opportunity to say how they feel let down by the priest hood 21st centuary man and what we as the priesthood and as men can do to continue to nurture, support the sisters in thier divinly appointed role and contiune to be of relivance in the modern age so that we can gain or re-gain their love, trust and respect. LOL to all sisters around the world:bighug:
  4. I was once told that offense is something that taken not given however if you go out of your way to offend you will. people are human and have a breakin point, after all Christ cleansed the temple of the money changers with a whip- he was offended by their unrightousness, therse men were members of the judaic covenant and should have known better if they had been more spiritual. The church speaks of the three fold mission one of which is to fellowship the saints if we do knot do this we are under condemnation. Yes sixpacker you make many poinbts about our perspective on judgment of thoise who mistreat us but that dosernt make us feel less alone or hurt. Our brothers and sistes are our keepers and should be a source of strenght in the gospel but when they let worldlyness and pride guiode their actions they do great harm to the this church by driving away those whom they should have nurtured.
  5. Read Genesis, it says that man was cast out from the garden of eden so that he could not eat of the tree of eternal least they become as gods. Mankind is the product of divine parentage and thus heirs to divinity, we have a divine ancestry and thus the posability of a divine future made possible through obedience to the gospel and the atonement of chirsit. Those who inherit celestial glory may qualify for exhaultation the supreme blessing ofeternal prosperity and like the saviour are acccorded saviours on mount zion. They inherit the power to become like the father and continue the divine work of increase the posterity. The blessed will then perform divine works set forth by the pattern of our forbearers. The term God is explained as a calling like bishop or prophet and this calling is founded in the power and authority of the priesthood predicated on the covenants that bind even the father (for if god were to lie he would cease to be god).
  6. I am green to the chat room scene and as yet have noy figured out how to modify my profile section so any one who has any tips Id be greatful:confused:
  7. Elgama is right the americas were the promised land of the old testament set aside by the Lord for his own purposes, the book of mormon teaches us this. Religious freedom in the americas is a debateable point however. The church only found true stability in the Salt Lake Desert after much sever persicution from those who supposedly loved the constitution and freedom. The church ended up in outside the US boarders on the otherside of the Indian Territory and in the farthest outbacks of Mexico d so they wold be safe from the majority protestant US and catholic Mexico neither of which were tolerant of the church beacuse unfortuatly when they left the old world on their quest for a better life they brought their prejudices with them like plague rats, they leave one area on a ship but they bring their diseseases with them. Thus the church ended up in the one place on the earth that the saints were most likly to flurish, they without consistant divine intervention there wpold have been constant unrelenting harrasment of the saints and no civilization can last when at constant war with itself or its neighbours, the tragic end to the BoM teaches this also.
  8. Lagniappe Check Out Smg On The Defying Mormon Perfectionism Thread You May Find That This Situation Is More Wide Spread Than You Think, Unfortunatlly.
  9. SMG, you are not alone my ex-wife experienced similar treatment (see my marraige after 30 thread) please please please dont let it drive you away from the gospel. I did confront the bishop and relief society only to be threatened with disfellowship and finally it was suggested that we may be happier in a different ward by the high priest group leader. There are good people and wards out there but their are pockets of narrow minded society which can do tremendous damage to the soul if allowed to -trust me my Ex-wife left me and the church largly beacuse of this kind of b/s. The best thing to do is seek alternative friends from around you, and stay spiritually close to the Lord.
  10. Michaela, it seems that you and most other sister posters are determined to misunderstand me and focus on my supposed anger. There is no anger only sad observations which can be frustrating. I do not wish to join the FLDS neither do I expect to mary any women I choose that is as abusrd as it is sexiest. The origonal question was dose being over 30, not a rfeturned missionary and a divorcee prevent me from remarrying beacuse I dont fit a sterotypical archtype of what a man should be in the 21st century. There is a growing problem amongst the sisters of discriminatory behaviour based on worldly outlooks. A case in point. When my wife and I first got together some years ago we lived in a cwertain ward USA (outside Utah). I this ward the sisters were very rude to my wife they openly told her that beacuse she had no children she had to sit in the back of the church. She was openly discouraged and ignored in relief society and vertually outcast socialy. The discrimination was so bad we stoped going and eventually changed wards. This continuing thread of caustioc behaviour by the sisters from several wards lead to the lose of her faith and leaving the church, yes I am angy about that. Given that such atttitudes exist among sisters I want to know from the sisters if there is any point me contiuing to search or am I destined to be left on the shelf gathering dust. If so fair enough sweep me into the recyclinbg I'll stop worrying about and get on with my singldom life and wait for the millenium with the rest of zions rejects. ps: I am thinking of starting my own web site for the rejects of the church who are outcasts (male and female) so that we can fellowship wirthout worrying about weathger we are up to the standard or not, seriously-more to follow on this subj.
  11. Yes The Star On The Temple Represents The Telestial Kingdom, Pagans Are Not Satanists Beacuse They Do Not Believe In Satan Or Christ They Are Anamists.
  12. I agree with DesRaines the difficulties lie in the cultural differences that divide us and as far as perspective partners in life goes no can or should decide for the individual what is best for them and as for everyone else its none of their business. In all other respects people are people and should be treated with the love, charity and dignity deserved of a son or daughter of god. In the beginning we were all spirit children of god undivided by mortal trapings such as skin colour.
  13. When christ rose from the dead and appeared unto Mary he say touch me not for I am not yet perfect for I have not assended to my father in heaven. Perfecting the saints, as a people and personally will not happen in this life time. We have the millenium awaiting us. In the end it dosent matter to the saviour where on the ladder of perfection your are so long as you are progressing in the right direction
  14. If you desire to serve a mission then put the lords calling first, from experience boot camp is not conducive to spiritual growth plus during these unsettled times if needed you will be sent to a situatiuon and you may not get the chance to sever a mission (this side of the veil) beacuse once you sign up you are goverment property and they will always have first claimon you, thus you mayend up never serving a mission as a young man. Go on a mission first beacuse the marines will be there when you get back. As for your shortcommings Moses had problems to but he was still called. Those who are about the Lords work have calim upon him for support. You will be edified and blessed by the Lord and supported by your companions, zone leaders, ward mission leaders (of which I was one), and area mission president. Hope this helps. ps; I was unable to go beacuse of wisdom teeth and I do regret it, even after 15 years, if I could go back and change one thing in my life serving a mission would be it.
  15. Elgama, the problem is I still care for her beacuse she is the mother of my children and she is no better advantaged in her new situation thus I worry beacuse I care for her as a sister on the one hand but on the other well we wount go there. Yes you are right about putting it behind you. However its not about revenge I hope I never go that dark and reach a point where I have no good feelings toward her beacuse that says something daming about me which I dont like because its not who I really am. In person I am a nice guy really, honest. I do hold strong views on topics such as religion, especially defending the faith, and politics. Perhaps you dont always understand when I am makeng a joke to try and lighten the conversation so people don't feel that I am angry beacuse its not true, passionate is closer to the truth I have enjoyed our chat and found it very rewarding. The thanks is general and I withdraw the eggs
