Justice got a reaction from SilentOne in Minding versus obeying
So, maybe to obey your parents you first wait for a command, then do, but to mind your parents you can live proactively all the teachings they've given, even using common sense of your own to "mind" what you know they would say if they were there?
Interesting comparison.

Justice got a reaction from Fether in Fig Leaves verse Coats of Skins
Anyone see the symbolism between the fig leaves Adam and Eve used verse the coats of skin God made for them to cover their nakedness?
Someone pointed out something to me today that I hadn't thought about before.
In order to get the skins, to cover their nakedness, God had to shed the blood of an animal.
I'm curious to hear your comments.

Justice got a reaction from wenglund in Can there be free will while God knows all things?
The answer is found, not in how much God knows, but in whether He will interfere. If you think aboout it, it really doesn't matter how much He knows, but whether He will force any man along one path or the other. If we truly have agency, which is a fundamental principle of the restored gospel, then we are free.
I learned a long time ago that God will not interfere with out agency. Consider this song:
1. Know this, that ev'ry soul is free
To choose his life and what he'll be;
For this eternal truth is giv'n:
That God will force no man to heav'n.
2. He'll call, persuade, direct aright,
And bless with wisdom, love, and light,
In nameless ways be good and kind,
But never force the human mind.
3. Freedom and reason make us men;
Take these away, what are we then?
Mere animals, and just as well
The beasts may think of heav'n or hell.
4. May we no more our pow'rs abuse,
But ways of truth and goodness choose;
Our God is pleased when we improve
His grace and seek his perfect love.
