  1. Well... I don't get it where it would say we would get everything Jesus has. You could kind of squeeze that out of that passage I suppose. But its a stretch. We would definitely get what verse 17 says... but "Join heirs with Christ" sounds alot more like receiving his authority and the rights to the throne of God. I don't see where that would make us gods except in a figurative sense like Satan is the god of this world.
  2. I have put a label on you, therefore you are what I say you are. That it was it sounds like to me.... :) I'm not trying to argue here... except to say it sounds like people are getting angry.
  3. Hehe. I suppose it is. It doesn't matter to me.
  4. I'm reading it definitely. It may bring me some secular and philosophical insight, but I am and will always be a staunch Non-Denominationalist.
  5. This is true. I take into account, however, that since I don't believe God has ever procreated, that Jesus is his only begotten son. We are sons through adoption.
  6. Might not a spiritual being... any supernatural being be regarded as a god when they may in fact be not?
  7. Oh o.k. :) Yeah. I just decided to blurt that out.
  8. I am trying to be unargumentative as I can...:) I'm just saying you know.... To me, Jesus is the same God as the Father. God the Father probably wouldn't say to the Son "I am Better Than You" But God might say to the son "My Authority is higher than yours." Ronald Reagan probably wouldn't think he was better than a homeless man, but he definitely has higher authority.
  9. Romans 8 1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. What this? :/ This only says we get to sit on the Throne with him.
  10. As an Orthodox Evenagelical I believe n one can be as virtueous or holy as God. I do read that we would have the "power' or authority of God... but not his supernatural might or wisdom. No where have I ever found in the scriptures that we would become deities.
  11. O.k... Orthodox Christianity, but I just get confused with Greek Orthodox when I hear that term used. Is Evangelical better?
  12. Christianity has a similar belief. We would have equal authority with God... but not his righteousness or power, per se.
  13. Alright. I'll apologize once I become omnipotent. :)
  14. If God can not change, why would he love us anymore for being gods than being human? We could be just as important as family members by being human. Could we not?
  15. Why would an omnipotent god want other literal gods in his company?
  16. Well, I beleive God communicates with us through the Holy Spirit. :) Different. :)
  17. This might bother me if I didn't believe the written word of God as being God inspired and all we really need, but since I do, I must point out Jesus said if someone says that they have seen him, then those who have heard the speaker talk about Jesus returning must not believe it.
  18. I don't buy it. :) I can buy becoming supernatural beings greater than angels.... But I cannot ever even think about being a god. The Bible describes the Angels as being a little higher than than Mankind. If that is true, then I would suggest that according to Christian theology, as obscure a knowledge we have on a similar premise, that at the Ressurection we are given bodies and the power to be higher than we were once before. I find no Biblical evidence that we would ever become divinities.
  19. Hm.... I hear that Mormons do not believe in the Trinitarian doctrine. If they do not, then why identify themselves as Christian even if they share the same Judaic Christian doctrines otherwise? I mention this in this thread because it ties in with the Godhead I mentioned to a Mormon friend of mine. Why? Yes... I can understand that Mormons accept Jesus, but I do not understand if they accept Jesus in the same fashion as Evangelicals.
  20. I am curious about this teaching of LDS.... I have heard of it being possible in Mormon theology to become a deity through following Mormon doctrine. Does the Book of Mormon necessarily say this...? Or does it just mention being the monarchs/etcetera of our own worlds? I have heard that we would own our personal planets, but I have not yet read inthe Book of Mormon tht we would become gods.
  21. I'm Interested. So.... I would like to say I respect the fact that Mormons are around me and that I live with Mormon neighbors. I like to see them.... What in the world, though, are the Terrestrial, and Tellestial, and Celestial Heavens? I had an explanation from someone not too long ago, but I crave depth within those explanations. What are some descriptions of these great places?
