Thank you for sharing. I remember my blessing that my father gave to me in regards to my worries, my suffering, and pain. What sticks out now was the fact that I was told: That there were many men and women who were groaning as well. That I am not alone in feeling this way.

Thank you very much. What hurts even more is that this is the secound job I've been passed up on. So it hurts even more. I decided even though I felt really down in the dumps to write the fellow who sent me the rejection letter a thank you for considering me for the position. I know I'll get over it, but I am still smarting really good over it. It's a hard job market, but I feel like I keep getting striked out at the gate. I have my degree and all, but I've been unemployed for seven months and there hasn't been anything at all.

I've had a really horrible week. I didn't get a job I had applied for. I was told to wait by my bishop before I can get my temple recommend due to some personal issues. I feel like I've done everything to try and raise my sprits but I still feel like crud. I've read scriptures, specifically I read D&C 121 which did help some, I've asked for blessings, I've prayed. I still feel very, very low. It's as no matter how hard I pray, or no matter how I try to look for comfort I feel lower and lower. I was so sure I was going to get this job as well. I had prayed so much about the job and felt the Sprit through the whole process. I was so sure I was going to get the job and so the let down was really hard. Not to mention feeling really addled and confused. And now my father states that he might be able to get me a job where he works, and that only makes me feel even more ashamed because I hate to rely on nepotism in getting a job. Plus I really don't want to work where he works either. Yet, I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth either. *sighs*

I can certaintly understand some of their reservations towards the Catholic faith. A lot of Catholic traditions come from local paganistic traditions. I can understand the reasons behind it as if you were planning on teaching the people in regards to Christianity you would use the symbols the people were well familar with in their culture and surplant them with Christian terminology and ideas. I am not going to say too much in offense to our Catholic brothers and sisters. I have deep respect for their beliefs. I find them extremly beauitful in many ways. I went to a Catholic service near the Easter season once as a school assignment in religious diversity. I found the service particularly moving. So it is how people preceive their faith that matters the most. I think we should be careful with symbols and how we preceive them. What one group sees as sacred another group doesn't or doesn't view in the same regard or perspective. A lot of our understanding of religious doctrines and terminlogy is based on symbols, such as the terminology Christ used in His teachings such as "Casting Pearls before Swine", "The Ten Virgins", "Wheat and Tares" etc. If we don't use a degree of Spritual recognition in such of these things then Christ's teachings are lost upon our ears and people think of them only as pecular stories. I still like President Hinkley's idea that we should focus on a living Christ, one who fullfilled the work the Father gave him. However, is there any doubt that other Christians reverence Christ's atonement any less that we do? We all do, it is just that we see and understand things a little diffrently.

Congradualations

Hate Crimes... Isn't that every crime. Most violent crimes are done in hate. Can you find one crime not done in hate or malice to another human being? Cain slaying Abel, do we define that as a hate crime?

I agree. I look at the main reason as to why we don't use it or use it that often is because it has not always been associated with Christianity. I find it difficult putting a lot of reliance on a symbol that the Early church condemned as pagan. The LDS church believes that we are in the same model as the primative church. So in regards to history it makes a lot of sense to me why we don't use it or use it spareingly.

The Cross hasn't always been a purely Christian symbol though. There are many examples of it being found in pre-Christian societies. I found this while doing a search. Institute are classes that the church has to help adults learn about the gospel. These include classes on a variety of topics such as the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Church History, Doctrine and Covenants, World Comparisons of Religions etc.

Well you have to be careful by what is meant by National Service as the National Service I am thinking of has to deal with volunteer work. Corporation for National and Community Service So I find that statement a bit wrong in terms of terminology. It should state in the article: military service. But I agree with what you're saying. It's a poor phrase of terminology, that the writer of the article/blog should be made aware of.

Actually I find this statement a bit silly. I served in Americorps and I did it willingly. There is no "slavery" to it. You don't want to do it you don't do it. I did it because there were benefits to it. I receieved a educational award that came in very handy when I was in school. Plus I got to be with kids during my service term. This whole idea that it's "Slavery" is blatently absurd. But that's my 2 cents worth.

*snickers* I would have called 9-1-1 as well. McNuggets are my favorite food. But seriously if I was in her place I would have gone to Wendy's. They have the five peice chicken nuggets for 99 cents. And I doubt Wendy's runs short. I love Wendy's for chili and their baked potato. :)

I went but my body kept wanting to go to sleep, yea I have the 9AM schedule. I still managed to keep awake. But it was a lot better than the week before when I didn't go. I ended up missing church due to a BYU vs. UNLV basketball game. I was pretty keyed up afterwards on a Saturday night and didn't get much sleep that night.

I should have said it sooner but I looked at his profile and it said he was LDS and he had a Catholic picture, and that from one perspective struck me as unusual, So from that I knew something didn't add up. On that refrence there is on the profile selection that states Catholic.
