  2. Welcome CatDad! I am a cat lover too....we have two Siamese who are the best ever!
  3. Hello, and welcome to our site. You will find a lot of support here. Many of us feel the same as you do or have been there. Take time and explore the site. Look forward to hearing more from you.
  4. The mini bathroom for the nursery is a great idea especially since I work in the nursery. Last year we had 14 and the year before that 30! This year 6 with 4 more scheduled to come. A bathroom would have been really great. Our ward mixes up who talks and says prayers but it hasn't always been that way. They stopped having the wife/husband speaking a few years ago. I think it ended the day they decided to have my husband speak first and me last. He spoke 4 minutes (it was his first talk) and left me 40 minutes! Not good...but I did it with a lot of testimony thrown in! Now, I don't know if this is where I post this but someone answer this: in our ward we have 2x's as many young women as young men, but the young mens budget is double that of the young women. Anyone know why that would be?
  5. Welcome. That's awesome you and your wife are making prep to be sealed in the temple. We took the classes 3x's. My husband had a hard time grasping everything and then the third time we had an incredible teacher who could really talk to him. We were married in the Nauvoo temple. It is all an amazing experience. Congrats.
  6. My husband and I use the ward and stake website a lot. We mainly use it for member phone, address and email information. The main problems are updating the ward staff seem to take forever to be done and the calendar but that I am sure depends on who is doing it and are they getting the information that needs to be on the calendar. I think it is a great tool with a lot of potential to reach everyone in the ward and stake with a wealth of information.
  7. I am really sorry you have to go through this. I went through a divorce in 1995. It was the worst and the best year of my life. I am not walking in your shoes but I have been down that same road. The journey is different for everyone. But I can tell you to follow your heart, trust in the Lord and really, really listen to what the Lord wants, and then pray for the strength to do what the Lord wants. Good Luck ****IN MY GREATEST SORROWS I FOUND MY GREATEST JOYS****** unknown
  8. Hi and welcome. Love your heart picture!

  10. Hi, I'm a new. Have been lurking around for a while. I am from California and then spent 12 years in Utah and then made the trek across the plains to Illinois about 11 years ago. I guess you could say I followed my ancestors footsteps only in reverse! They joined the church in England and Ireland and in answering the Prophets call sailed the seas, pushed the handcarts settling in Utah and then on to California. I have yet to sail that sea to the land of my ancestors and one day I will. It is here in Illinois that my long lost testimony was found and it is here that I am at "home." There is an unseen force that one feels when you travel those roads to Nauvoo. To walk where the Prophet Joseph walked, lived and died is an incredible experience. The gospel has changed my life and I look forward to sharing my testimony and strengthening it further.
