  1. I'm all good with pictures too. I've come to terms with the fact that what happened happened (I'm sending my therapy bills to you SF). I'm pretty sure that everyone gave their consent there at the dinner when I demanded it as we stood up to take pictures. Honor taking control and being demanding? Hard to believe huh? Is that the kind of thing you were referring to Ryan?

    What?:o

Are you saying you didn't enjoy it even a tiny bit? Your face told another story. Anyway, I am glad you have come to terms with it, I mean with us being bosom buddies and all. ;)

  2. Ryanh as one of the newbies to the dinner it would be interesting what you read was on the people there. The event did get started after we stood up. Have you ever tried goosing someone sitting down?

Also, about the picture being posted I thought that it had been okayed at the dinner. Thus far, I am ok with any of them from FB being posted here. What say the rest of you? Anyone mind one of the group being posted here? I do have my favorite and it is the one of the group with Pam and her man.:D

  3. I carry bottled water inside my huge killer purse everywhere I go. I take it out and drink from it while at the movies.

Sure they sell bottled water there for 3-4 dollars but most of the theaters I go to also have free water available from fountains. To me water is still one of those items that you should be able to enjoy without guilt or concern, almost like fresh air. ;)

I don't know, maybe my head is in the clouds on this. :D

  4. Here are a couple of movie review sites for parents:

Kids-in-Mind: Movie Ratings That Actually Work (this site gives Avatar a 4/10 for sex/nudity, a 7/10 for violence and gore, and 4/10 for profanity)

My son saw it and said it was really good but thought that I might not like it because of the violence and gore. He knows how sensitive I am to that and wanted to give me a heads up. I have read every reply here and have not seen much mentioned on those two things. I am now thinking that maybe it isn't so bad afterall?

  5. My heart goes out to both you and your wife. Forgiveness can be very difficult especially if we feel that some accountability or apology should be given and it doesn't happen.

As one of my goals this year I feel I need to forgive someone who seriously wronged our family years ago. The story is very complex and personal but I have come to the conclusion that this man has had many opportunities to make things right but after 5 years has not done so. I don't need to carry his lack any longer by holding onto something that he needs to be responsible for. Don't get me wrong, this is difficult but to not forgive holds myself as a prisoner. I am not sure how I will finally let it go, but because I have held onto it for so long it will be something symbolic. Most likely it won't even involve this man because it will be something that will occur within me. Here is a quote I like.

"When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free".

  6. Hey, I'm not wearing any gumdrops (I don't think you can get any less) and I didn't get any waiter attention! Beefche's posts indicate a similar concern. I think you're hiding something from us Pammy dear.

Uhm, excuse me for interrupting but Dravin I have a sweet picture of you and Elphie together, do you want it? :D Are you on FB? It is there as well.

I think Elphie is much better than any waitress or waiter. :)

  7. So is it okay to post the picture here of Pam (the cougar) and her new man? :D I have a great one and could crop out the rest of the group if needed.

For that matter Pam also has it now bc of facebook. Pam you have my permission to use that photo here for the enjoyment of others!!!

Honor, the only texting I saw was Pams son but who could blame him if my son would have even come he would have been texting too. :)

    Hey CM, :D

  9. Unless you have the latest and greatest computer with all the bells and whistles, you will likely need some additional hardware. Either an Analog to Digital Video converter box, a camcorder, or a video card for the computer that can accept analog signals.

    See eHow

Thanks for the link... I do best with visual learning and this is great! :)

  10. Me and my wife have used it several times and it works well. We use it to make DVD's of TV shows that we recorded.

Does your computer have the audio/visual hookups (red, white and yellow) for your camera? If so, you should be able to download them right into Movie Maker and start editing.

    Thanks CM!

I just got my laptop within the last month and will dig out some of the stuff that came with it. You have the wheels turning in my head. :)

  11. On the way huh? Is that an announcement or wishful thinking? ;)

KUDOS on all this SF! I love that you want to do this yourself! I'm not going to be of much help here. I've only messed around with creating vids with free online programs and already digitized files, but I'd LOVE to learn more. If you find a digital editing class somewhere and want the company, I'd be very tempted to take it with you! You're amazing Woman!

No, NO, Honor you are the AMAZING ONE!!!!!

    Oh yes, ANNOUNCEMENT:

I have TWO grandbabies on the way!!! One in Nov, and one in March!!!

I would love your company so lets see what we can find. :D

    Free online programs huh?

  12. Sorry to be so bold in the title.:)

This month my VT's came with a message about continued learning and so I thought what is something I would like to learn about. For years, I have wanted to have my videos from when my children were small put onto a DVD. With the message from my VT's I have decided that I would like to walk this path and have creative licence with my own videos. I know that there are places where these things can be sent out to but I would like to learn this for myself. I am also wanting to learn more about photography and picture editing so this can be an extention of my new passion.

The video camera I have is a Sony Handycam that stores the videos on cassettes that are called 8 mm. We have never put our videos on anything else and to watch them we have connected the recorder with jacks to our TV. We have a lot of cassettes so I am looking for away to record them to DVD and then give them to the family and friends in the video.

I have done a bit of searching on the internet and found software and recording devices. Now I am looking for something that really makes this easy and fun. With Grandbabies on the way I see a great need for this talent in our family and hoping someone can steer me in the right direction. If you have some ideas feel free to contact me or post here.

Thanks, learning can be sooooooo exciting!!!
