  1. haha mafia wars... I was into that, but once I reached level 100 it got really repetitive and became pretty boring, plus I was spending way to much time on it. I'm the type who has to be very cautious about the game I play because if I'm not careful I will get sucked right in and realize I spent a whole week and that my greatest accomplishment for that week was growing 5 levels in the game, and beating my record for the longest I've ever fasted... haha ya...
  2. Interesting thought. Consider the fact that many of the early church leaders witnessed such truths such as seeing the gold plates and visitations by angels, etc... yet still apostatized from the church. Laman and Lemuel are also good example. They actually saw an angel yet eventually still continued in their wickedness and sought to take the life of their brother and family. I guess in some sense a visitation by an angel still might not be 100% proof for someone but I think it would be pretty hard to deny it. Satin knows that God exists yet he has still rebelled against him. I think a lot of it has to do with our free agency and imperfect natures. I think for the most part you are correct that some how actually having 100% knowledge of God would definitely have its benefits to lead you do to more righteous things and make it easier to avoid those things you listed. The only flaw I see is that none of us can be perfect, even with a perfect knowledge of God. I believe it is still possible to do those things you listed and to know 100% that God exists but it would probably be much worst for your soul to do such things and to have that knowledge.
  3. I personally have trouble marking in my scriptures, it got to confusing for me and I didn't like the way it looked in my scriptures anyways. Something I have recently started doing is to take a notebook and convert it to my study journal pretty much. How I have been doing it is I start at the very beginning of the book in verse one, then I write all my thoughts from that verse in my notebook. Then write down verse two and do the same for that, if I found cool cross references I write them down in my note book under the verse I was relating them to. I also am very specific to my self when I write in my notebook, I write how the things in that scripture can relate to me and my life. Sometimes I will read a short verse and then write a couple paragraphs in my notebook about it even if its not even related to the verse, its just the thoughts and personal revelation I felt while reading that verse. Other times I will just write a short sentence that just gives me an important detail of the verse. What I like about this technique is its kind of forcing me to read more into the actual context of the scriptures, I don't let myself move on until I've written something for every verse. Because I often find myself reading the scriptures but not absorbing what I read, I will have read a couple of pages and just realize I had no idea what I just read, so I would go back and re-read it. So far its been really good for me, I feel like I'm getting a better feel of what its actually like to "feast upon the scriptures" and it feels good! :) When it comes to marking, I am horrible, sorry I can't actually help there.
  4. hmmm, I'm at a loss, you'll have to refresh me on this one. So... maybe when ever I see the girl I should climb a building and jump off to get away... ya...
  5. That's how it is for me, I'm just waiting for him to give me a topic. I just figured I could start gathering ideas on paper to have it more ready. Thanks! I will definitely do that. That's awesome! Because I am a ward missionary and that goes right along with what we teach as ward missionaries. I could definitely apply "every member a missionary" there. Thanks!
  6. Hey everyone, I'm working on my farewell talk to give in my ward, (I know they don't like us calling them "farewell talks" but for sakes of simplicity that's what I'll be calling it) and I'm not necessarily looking for help writing it... What I'm looking for is what you (the audience) like to hear from pre-missionaries at their farewell talks? I don't have a topic yet, but I want some ideas from people on what they like to hear and what they don't like to hear as much of in farewell talks? I've heard some mixed opinions, some people like to hear the talk focused on the topic, while others would rather hear about the missionaries experience and preperation for their mission. I also have quite a few non member friends coming and I would like to be able to address certain principles for them in a way, because the way I see it, the talk itself can be a missionary opportunity. So any ideas or suggestions you have would be great thanks! :)
  7. Thanks for the advice. Actually I found she actually doesn't like me which knowing that has made it easier to not think about her as much. Its still kinda hard though when I see her every week. (church)
  8. This is nothing serious, but it would help me a bit if I could get some advice. So there's this girl I like quite a bit and think she might like me, but that's not important. Whats important is making sure I stay focused on my missionary preparation, and going on a mission etc... She consumes my thoughts quite a bit sometimes, and its distracting me from where my focus should be. I don't want this little crush to become a distraction from my mission, any tips on how I can just forget myself and get to work? Thanks.
  9. Oh haha sorry, I didn't even notice that I just kind of assumed. At least you can now access them for what ever purpose?
  10. Sure thing. Oh, I got my call already about a month ago! I'm going to Edmonton, Canada and I leave September 30
  11. http://www.lds.org/mss Just create an account if you don't already have one with lds.org then you can start filling them out online. It even has a check list for everything you need to do before you send them in to your bishop. I just finished mine a couple months ago so I'm pretty fresh on how they work.
  12. Yeah definitely! Share it with everyone you want, the more exposure I get the better.
  13. Yeah I am actually working on becoming a professional stunt man eventually, but that will have to hold until after my mission which I leave for in 2 months to Edmonton, Canada! So if we ever did meet up I definitley could teach you some stuff. Oh yeah and the my portfolio video is a pretty old one, I wasn't very good back then. Probably one of my best ones is called 'Focus' and the link to that video is in my signature.
  14. Thanks! glad you guys enjoyed it I know some parts its hard to hear what we are saying, youtube made it worse though. Yeah we should have rehearsed some more, because every talking scene we just improvised as we went along because we didn't have very much time to make the film. I don't know if anyone has ever heard of parkour or free running? Because that's specifically what I do. If you want to see more of my stunts this account has some really cool tricks and videos of me. YouTube - ronster82's Channel
