  1. I was just taken off Ambien after 2 years of use; and Zaleplon, and chloral hydrate... I bought a big box of diphenhydramine HCL (antihistamine - benadryl) because it makes some people sleepy. Ended up taking 300mg's of it; not even a yawn. But I did discover that its a powerful hallucionogen and hypnotic, much like ambien. Its actually a pleasant feeling; ambien always felt.. fake to me when I took it. It made me sleepy, but not necessarily tired. And the Ambien nightmares were pretty bad too...
  2. Its a good thing. It took me about a year to get the idea of divorce thorugh my thick skull, but once it passed through it became much easier to accept; at that point I knew I was going to be alright, and I was just going to have to start over in life. Tabula Rossa - a clean slate
  3. yeah, it just bumped me out when I tried to change some perameters Soooooo bo red... Can't sleep, don't want to eat, don't feel like reading...
  4. I'm using it right now and have been for several hours
  5. His shoes may be small, but apparently he's very fast on his feet...
  6. I pretty much stopped weighing myself and instead judge my physical condition by the size of clothing I can fit into. Right now I'm in clothes I bought just after I got out of the Army.
  7. That's a good question; one I'd liked answered. We would not receive revelations about church business or practices, but I do believe one would receive revelations in the service of others, such as home teaching families, relatives, very close friends, and people of that nature. We know for a fact that witchcraft (or whatever you want to call it) was practiced in the past; Pharoh Ramses, who chased Moses with his armies only to be swallowed up, had court magicians who completed several tasks identical to the miracles that Moses shew Pharoh; then we also read that they were confounded during the plagues and unable to reverse the curse opon Pharoh. We also know that Jesus cast out unclean spirits that would posess the bodies of mortal men and women; so we know for a fact that there are in fact spirits who've never had a body (and will seize any one they can get their hands on, for as long as they can), and that they are capable of, in some way, interact with the Fathers law of the universe. I also believe that the spirits of family and friends may be sent back after death to deliver revalations, instructions, or warnings; several of the prophets have commented upon the use of witchcraft, Ouiji Boards, and other paraphenalia as being "the work of the Great Deceiver." We also know that Lucifer, literally the God of this planed until Christ returns, is malicious and will spare no effort to effect our lives as negatively as possible, so I could see Lucifer "stationing" spirits full of hate and malice in certain places, for the soul purpose (yes the pun was intended) of creating havoc and fear. I have never seen a spirit, but I do believe my ex-mother-in-law who claimed to have been councelled when looking to buy a house not to buy the one the Spirit was in.. The house was inhabited sortly thereafter, and within a few days the new family were deceased from Carbon Monoxide poisoning as ivy had grown into the chimney cutting off the intended path of the smoke and instead forcing it into the house, killing the family that had just moved in. I don't believe in space aliens all that much; why would any intelligent being want to waste time on a planet with people who are disgusting and wicked enough to kill the Son of God. Which begs the question of "how many of the planets that the Father has made have intelligent life on them, and do they also have their own saviour for each inhabited planet, or is there only one First Begotten Son for provide salvation for all the Sons and Daughters of our God, no matter where they are in our Gods universe?? If its the case that we are the wickedest of all The Father's children, and that only we would have killed Him; thus fulfilling the ancient covenant with the people of Zion, and the ending of Mosaic law, and the introduction of the New and Everlasting Covenant, without which no man could be resurrected into a perfect, living body, and obtain his promised inheritance from The Father (salvation and the opportunity to be a God and create as you see fit)?. So, since The Father has freely admitted that there are other Gods, and that he is a jealous God, I would have to say that yes, it is my belief that there are evil and malicious spirits that may 'haunt' a place for sometime, for the sole purpose of causing mayhem and a loss of faith in The Father of all living men and women. Which then also begs this question. The 10 commandments that Moses brought down from the hill commanded us not to "have and God's before Him;" so we know that there are other Gods, but they are not the appointed creator or saviour of our world. You would know if The Comforter were in your body for a divine purpose, just as The Enemy's Gods would use their powers to our detriment; so, we can use the Priesthood to our advantage. What I'm saying is that I'm skeptical of claims of supernatural phenomenon, but I'm receptive to the possibility that there are things beyond my abilities to understand; in which case we have a living prophet of God to guide us and show us the way; as we surely do not yet have all of the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven ourselves. Witchcraft is definately of Lucifer, but I do not know (but I suspect) that 'psychics' are covenant to secret combinations (just as the Gadianton Robbers and others of the Book of Mormon) and in exchange for something coporeal, have given up freedoms in this life and the next, just to have the chance to experience mortality in a way that temporarily pleases them. And I suspect that this medding could come in many forms; some very sneaky and pervasive, such as pornography, liquor, and other indulgences that the Prophets caution against, and as unsubtily as undermining structures or homes in order to harm or kill the occupants. Anyway, that's the Gospel According to Ryan.
  8. I made a lot of mistakes in my marriage; primarily I just wasn't 'there' to help her with things. I was self-employed as an electrical/structural steel contractor, and I'd deliberately looked for projects well away from home; sometimes for months on end. I also drank quite a bit, and I know that my drinking problem was a large contributing factor to my divorce and the estrangement of my children. Oh, just to have a do-over card. Just once, knowing what I know now. Things would be really different, and I would be much happier and still married to the mother of my 4 children. I feel like an idiot for letting her slip away the way she did. Oh well, if life closes a door in front of you, bash out the front picture window with a conveniently located bar stool and run for your life. I also let my ex-wife control our finances; after all, I was gone for months on end. Its not that I can't handle money (ex-wife couldn't - she spent thousands on garbage knick-knacks, but could never find the cash to make the house payment on time), I just wasn't there when I should have been. When I went in for tithing settlement and was asked "do you pay a full tithe and make fast offerings," I told him I had no idea, that I assumed my wife took care of those kind of things while I was travelling from one coast to the next, then back again. Oh well, lesson learned. CHet; whered you get the Ushanka? Is that a Soviet uniform you're wearing? Privet, Droog.
  9. Chet- Be yourself love-handles and all, instead of trying to be someone else. And move to Wisconsin where anyone under 300 pounds is considered fit and skinny... In Milwaukee I'm a God amongst men (I have all of my teeth and none of them are green) and have no difficult time finding someone to go out on a 'date' with, because, as I said, I'm considered to be fit and skinny (I only weigh 260lbs at 6'3")
  10. I think she should pray about this issue after discussing it with the Bishop. Our stake heirarchy has asked us to increase the offerings received by July; there are a lot of very needy families in my stake who have to rely on the Bishop's Storehouse for food and clothing, and fast offerings are used to cover the bare essentials of life (maintaing a residence, utilities). Were I the one to receive support from my ex-spouse I would definately pay tithes and fast offerings out of it because I want the blessings that come with being a full tithepayer. I'm glad you're still friendly enough with your soon-to-be ex-wife to have a rational conversation such as the one you've described above; perhaps you can be close friends instead of spouses.
  11. People who are truly against the Church are generally paid clergy for another and see the Lay Leadership as a serious threat to their souce of income; specifically their claims to the keys of heaven (which we know to be untrue, therefore they're liars), the correct interpretation of the scriptures (theology taught by those who are also interested in making religion a business and who make a great living from praying off the fears of their congregations (all puns intended). I just ignore people like that; if they want to persue the issue with my after I've walked away, I'll give em' one warning to back the heck off, and if they still continue my Hulk side comes out... "You're making me angry.. You won't like me when I'm angry...
  12. Nevermind FT, he just did a little too much LDS back in the 60's...
  13. Congradulations! I know you've worked hard for this and you deserve every bit of adulation. Make sure to scan a copy and post the photo here so we can all have a good look at your funny tutu or whatever it is that ballerina's wear
  14. I'm very glad that you're comforted and feeling good about things. But remember to unburden yourself regularly, because if it builds up, it'll kill you inside, then you'll miss out on so many of the little joys that life has to offer. Believe me, I know
  15. Connecting Colorado - Job Search | Employee Search | UI Registration I still recommend the Ward/Stake Employment Specialist; he can help with 1 on 1 career counseling, fine tuning a resume', interview skills, etc. Things you won't get outside the Church Services at no cost to you, and with the same level of expertise and loving professionalism.
  16. The job market absolutely sucks. I recommend talking to your ward Employment Specialist; he'll have a lot of resources at his/her disposal, and you don't need a reference from your bishop.
  17. When my ex-wife left (it still feels weird to say ex-wife - I want to say 'wife' every time) she took all kinds of weird things with her... She took a Japanese rice steamer, mixers and food processors, plates and bowls - but left the silverwear; she also left most of her clothes. I finally gave them to the sister of an employee; wouldn't you know, though, a week later she shows up with the cops unannounced, forces her way into the house, then wants to have me arrested for getting rid of her clothes; meanwhile I was tasered and handcuffed and gettin' aggressive because of their entry, and finally they left after I stated the obvious... "How do you know I don't wear women's clothes in private, and therefore the stuff I gave away may have been mine..." Of course, I don't wear womens clothing, in public or private, but I think it got them thinking they didn't want to be in my house one minute longer with such a weirdo. Well, it got them out at least. I did save a little of her more.. prized clothing, and delivered it to her when I visited my kids for my at that time 8 year old's babtism. Love your avatar by the way; I've always wanted a ushanka like that.
  18. Hey Chet, ditto on looking all over the house and being reminded of what used to be. It hurt so bad I packed the bare essentials, gave everything else away, what I couldn't give away I threw in a dumpster, and moved 600 miles away (she'd moved about 550 miles at that point, so I figured "what the heck does another few hundred miles make?"). I've said it before and I'll say it again; divorce is a terrible terrible thing. Take two formerly loving people, give them swords, tridents, nets, and shields, and let them battle it out in the Colosseum; it'd be more humane than divorce court. And we'd treat each other better too...
  19. The only way to counter what the "extremists" are doing is for every single Imam ESPECIALLY THE RADICAL ONE'S WHO DEMAND SHARIA LAW IN ALL COUNTRIES to publicly denounce terrorism and the taking of innocent life. Otherwise you just have one little corner of a big group trying, while the others idly sit by and say nothing when evil is done.
  20. I see this: But I think this: No amount of advertising will change the fact that Muslims are blowing themselves up on busses in Israel, Pakistan, Afganistan, Iraq, etc. etc. etc. and killing thousands upon thousands of innocent people. Nothing will change the fact that Muslims are the one's on a Jihad against Christianity, Judiasm, Hinduism, Taoism, Buddhism, and any other ity or ism that isn't Islam. I'm sorry, I just can't get past having lost friends of mine to bombers in both Afganistan and Iraq.
  21. This whole thing just breaks my heart. I'll fast and pray again for you tomorrow. Anything specific you'd like me to fast/pray for? -Ryan P.S. sorry I didn't respond to your PM; I was in a car accident and spent a few weeks in the hospital with a brain injury and when I finally read it a few days ago it didn't seem appropriate to comment at that point.
