I don't think they're LDS since they do swear a couple times (I edit out any music with one or two curses using audacity, it's great. =D) but yes it's very inspiring nonetheless. Secret and Whisper are amazing. They're my favorite heavy band. Check em out.

You can disagree all you want, but it won't matter much because a. I've received a witness on it from Heavenly Father. b. No one here really knows me all that well to judge even if the above wasn't the case. Let me just say though that no one in my ward has cautioned me about it, not even my bishop, any of the leadership, or my own mother. I would imagine that's because they know me well enough to know that I can be in a successful, mature relationship and be worthy at the same time. So if my word's not good enough, add all theirs to the list.

I prefer chocolate peanut butter any day of the week. My take on this whole thing is rather simple: If it has ACTUAL coffee in it, don't ACTUALLY eat it.

This video is the story of my life. haha. Fortunately we never have unbreakable glass. =D

No, haha. Their guitarist is backing the lead. It's probably because they have very similar ranges. The guitarist tends to be a little lower though.

This reminds me of the thread about the Passion of the Christ that I read on here. lol. Since we're on the topic of music in general now, what's your opinion of this song? I really admire the guy's voice, and his backer harmonizes incredibly well.

There's actually a lot of technique involved in learning how to scream properly so you don't damage your vocal cords. This is just another example of a different instrument being used in a different way, but for a good, wholesome purpose.

No, I meant literary. Don't you consider poetry to be literature? haha. For me, the screaming brings a lot of passion. When coupled with a good message, it comes across to me as a triumphant cry in support of what is right. And I sincerely hope you're not offended by my listening to inspirational heavy music. *headbang*

Perhaps you're not as literary with your lyrics as I am. haha. Let me try to break it down for you. =D Everything we are today stems from the marrow of our back bone (they have grown from all their trials instead of letting them bring them down) This is dedication at its finest, And we owe everything that we have to you, Our driving force, Causing us to constantly better ourselves. We are redefining the meaning of contentment. And though the odds are against us, We all know that we will prevail. We will prevail. Accepting all the negativity and turning it into fuel For the flames that we keep burning on the inside. Burning from the inside-out. Consider this a thank you, For helping us to mold our future selves. (all of the above here is directed at God) And your words alone are not enough to destroy our commitment. (the perspective changes here, they're addressing people who would tear them down because of their beliefs.) This is where i belong. This where we belong. (they hold their ground)

Think it doesn't exist? Think again! YouTube - Counterparts - Sturdy Wings Note how the guitars have a lot of lift in them, and the vocals aren't all that hard to understand. As compared to say, Underoath's older material. For me, though, it takes away from the spirit when I can't follow the music itself and it becomes erratic and disorganized, as well as if the lyrics have a bad message, but I'm sure this varies from person to person (the part about the music, not the lyrics, anyway). Lyrics are in the description. I find them to be very uplifting and I feel the spirit while listening. =D That said, I wouldn't listen to it on Sunday because it's not reverent. I find that we should listen to music on Sunday that is both spiritual and reverent. I'll post some more examples if anyone would like to see.

Thanks for the clarification, and don't misunderstand. I agree that generally this should apply until someone receives a witness. it just saddens me that people make judgments (even on situations) when they may not have all the details of the situation. Dramatic irony much? Of course, once the person in the situation understands the other person's point of view when they made the judgment, then they can come to agreement. I think that's happened in this thread now. More irony! *facepalm* Sorry! I think I really did put this in the wrong forum now. I wasn't looking for advice. This just seemed like the appropriate place to go since I wasn't looking to debate doctrine, but to discuss personal matters. *sweatdrop, scratches head*

Ohhhh ok. I gotcha now. Yeah I see what you're saying. Things can and do move fast a lot of times, but if we can temper ourselves we can gain control of things. If that does indeed happen to me, I'm ready for it. I've prayed about it quite a bit. Heavenly Father has helped me come to grips with that should it happen. In this way, a break up is no different than an untimely death, really. (untimely death of a relationship? lol) Don't forget that things can change just as quickly for adults. They did for my mom.

This last part here is the key. I have gotten my exception granted from Heavenly Father. Also, I didn't come in here to seek approval, perhaps that's what I get for mistakenly putting it in the advice forum. I posted it to address my concerns about members making judgments about youth who decide to steady date.
