What's the tower of Babel? and is that spelt right? It probably isn't

Interesting views... not saying I think there wrong just to make that clear now, I can't really speak for anyone else as I don't know, but I myself don't know much about LDS beliefs and Doctrines but I would like to learn, I agree with about 80% of your post dont understand about 18% and not sure if I agree with this bit: the pretribulation rapture. We do believe we will be whisked away before the worst of it. What do you mean by pre tribulation rapture and what do you consider "the worst of it"

At the Church I go to we have a church constitution that determines hoe to change the constitution, the election of elders, deacons and pastors, usually the pastor is the only paid member but the church can hire others, we must have in the constitution everything the Baptist union says we must plus other optional stuff then we have a practice manual which puts everything into day to day practice, any decisions are brought to the members by the leadership and is then voted on, this is done at members meetings and the practice manual and the church finances are reviewed at every AGM (annual general meeting). I hope that answers your question and makes sense, if not just ask about anything you want clarification on

Thats the problem really I don't know what to ask... I've always had sitting in on a Catholic church service on my bucket list, I have recently added the Mormon church too through largely curiosity. Yeah got bored and done a which sailor scout are you quiz one time, and surprise surprise mine came up as sailor Jupiter... she was my fav before that anyway and apparently the one I looked most like (me and a group of friends were going to go as the sailor scouts for our superhero dress up day, but it fell through)

Hey guys first of all for those who don't know me I will introduce myself. My name is Lisa, i'm 18 in 27days i'm from Australia and I am a Christian... although I prefer not to separate the church by doctrine I understand it is sometimes needed to help understand an individuals beliefs, I myself am a Baptist as that seems to line up the best with my own beliefs, however I will not be so arrogant as to believe that what I believe is completely right and that I cannot learn from people of other doctrines... I admire a lot of things in the LDS church, but don't think I fully grasp what they believe yet... I have noticed the key difference is the book of Mormon and other documentations, I was wondering could anyone give me a rough Idea of what these are and where I could find them so I could judge for myself whether or not I believe these teachings rather than having others from outside try to dictate what I am to believe about the LDS faith.

Yeah they don't seem to think it's relevant... I'm sure I will find out the exact moment when it will happen... It may happen at that exact moment but that small detail is irrelevant... one day I will know for certain when it shall happen.... (evil laugh)

Interesting point but you need to somehow balance faith in the unseen and being lead astray and that is a very fine line to walk... like walking on the edge of a cliff... inches from from death, but breathtaking at the same time... It's how I like to define the term faith... living on the edge of disaster but always in the midst of miracles

Personally the signs of the end times are beginning to show up around us as predicted in revelations, I don't get it persecution brings you closer to Christ and gives you a chance to stand up for him in the face of adversary... why would you want to be spared that?

Bit of both...Yes mine was pleasant... I'm quite glad that not much major bad things have happened to me In my discovery and walk with Christ (except Jeff's suicide, followed by a very convincing lie from the devil, which with the help of a few close Christian friends I overcome) but there is many miracles and spiritual growth...thus far anyway

Kinda... Coincidence were both from Australia, yes, Coincidence were here on the same day... No. We are both members of another website and we had a good friend on that site, his name was Kurt, now Kurt was banned from the site due to argumentative threads on the Mormon faith and how they were not Christian, I myself and a few others such as morecoffee here found that this man had the love of the Lord in his heart even if what he believes is a little different from ours... He always responded kindly and respectfully to false allegations about his faith, and was eventually banned because of the amount of hate threads started while he was there.... many of us have tried to track him down, finding he is a member if this site, we have joined in the hope of keeping in contact with him

Yeah us awesome Australian's:D from the east coast myself... Victoria, also flood free now.. not so much last week, the rain cut off a few roads... horrible... as for me I am first and foremost a Christian, but if you really want a denomination I'm Baptist (Please don't shoot me I come in peace)
