  1. Thats cool... you will also find that even through everything Jesus went through, he was still thankful, i a weird kinda way at times but still, i think we are going well
  2. The best praise is the sacrifice of praise. As Job said, "He giveth, and he taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Remind's me of a Pentecostal song... the name of the song is "Blessed be the name of the Lord" Blessed be your name In a land that is plentiful Where your steams of abundance flow Blessed be your name. Blessed be your name When I'm found in the desert place Though I walk through the wilderness Lord blessed be your name. Every blessing you pore out I'll turn back to praise and when the darkness closes in Lord still I will say Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be your name Blessed be your Glorious name. Blessed be your name When the sun's shinning down on me, when the world's all as it should be Blessed be your name. Blessed be your name On the road marked with suffering Though there's pain in the offering Blessed be your name. Every blessing you pore out I'll turn back to praise and when the darkness closes in Lord still I will say Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be your name Blessed be your Glorious name. Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be your name Blessed be your Glorious name. You give and take away, you give and take away, My heart will choose to say Lord blessed be your name. You give and take away, you give and take away, My heart will choose to say Lord blessed be your name. You give and take away, you give and take away, My heart will choose to say Lord blessed be your name. Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be your name Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be your Glorious name. Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be your name Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be your Glorious name. I'm not sure how relevant it is, I think the lyrics speak for themselves so I wont elaborate... hope you can see why it came to mind when reading through this...
  3. You may be having some problems sharing the gospel with your friends, your kids, your parents, your spouse, your co-worker, your neighbour, your enemies. You may say, man, it seems like I keep sharing this word of God and nothings happening, I just want to remind you of something that hopefully you already know, the bible says the word of God is living and Active. It also says God's word never comes back to him void, without accomplishing the purpose for which he sent it out. Jesus likened the word of God to seeds that a sower would sow, some of that seed may fall on rocky ground, some may get stolen by the birds, some may get choked by the thorns, but there's a lot of seed that grows, some 30 fold, 60 fold, 100 fold. In the psalms of the Old testament it says those who sow in tears will reap with Joy. He who goes forth weeping, sowing precious seed, will return rejoicing, bringing his sheaves in, with him. God is very faithful, i've seen many people whose loved ones didn't come around till the very last minute, but so often, seems like more often than not, they did come around. And like that thief on the cross at the last minute, they made a commitment to Christ and that commitment counts, just as surely as that thief on the cross commitment counted. It doesn't matter when you get gathered to be a worker for Jesus right? those who came at the last minute got paid just as much as those who who started at the first part of the day. So just remember God's word is living and active, never comes back to him void, and grows wherever you will sow.
  4. I hope you weren't serious about the Ark thing... but I can see why you would say it, Brisbane is looking like a scean out of "The day after Tomorrow"
  5. hmm... breaking news, brisbane is soon to be covered in 5.5m of water Sydney is flooded, Melbourne has been issued with a flood warning from the SES, watch this space... and OMG! media coverage of prayer in the state of Victoria, unheard of yet it happened.
  6. The north of NSW was flooded yesterday it is slowly moving down the coast, some say all of east coast will flood, some say 5 states will flood, QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, WA(Perth) due to the level of rain and the progression of flood waters... you might want to watch it too being so geographically close. :)
  7. But that is not to say their aren't good LDS people on here, we just happen to be not one of them....
  8. LOL white! :) I thought that was a shade not a colour Whites are motivated by Peace. They seek independence and require kindness. They resist confrontation at all costs. To them, feeling good is more important than being good. They are typically quiet by nature, process things very deeply and objectively with great clarity. Of all the colors, Whites are the best listeners. They respect people who are direct but recoil from perceived hostility or verbal battle. Whites need their "alone time" and refuse to be controlled by others. Whites want to do things their own way and in their own time. They ask little of others and resent others demanding much of them. Whites are much stronger than people think, but are not often seen for their strength because they don't easily reveal their feelings. Whites are even-tempered, diplomatic, and the voice of reason; but can also be indecisive, unexpressive, and silently stubborn. When you deal with a WHITE, be kind, accept and support their individuality, and look for non-verbal clues to understand their feelings.
  9. Thats cool, just pre warning you were not all LDS but the LDS population is big and friendly and those who are not LDS hold them in high respect
  10. read, acknowledged wish I could help but have no idea.
  11. Hia there Mistletoe Lady nice to meet you
  12. My suggestion is in those moments pray... It works for me, you pray for god to remove it trust he will and even if its still there thank him for removing it... it sounds silly but it might work for you too
  13. lol, so close... you only get 10, I got 5 removed for posting a link to this site then banned for saying I was leaving but we ought not to discuss it here... Thats a little sad really (hug) I hope things work out. I find this funny, in the time that Jesus walked the earth they all greeted each other with a brotherly kiss, try doing that today...
  14. I (as a Baptist) find that any visitations/ visions/ revelations are on an individual basis and we can discuss them amongst ourselves but unless it is directly related to a specific teaching in the new testament it is not officially addressed.
  15. doesn't appear so, but neither do we (or I don't anyway)
  16. Ok, I fit into the category you consider creedal Christianity- where we believe there is God now God then created angel's (, demons) and people. if you have ever seen the movie I robot, how the robot (played by Robbie Williams) is at the end of the film (so close to being human (can cry feel emotion, think for itself, everything but reproduce)the same yet different) is sorta how we see God vs. people the same, yet different. Yet in Mormonism it's more like, to use a worldly example and for lack of a better one, a pride of Lions, God being the alpha male? ... sorry it's a crude example but the best I could think of to compare it to.
  17. I still don't think I understand that one... It may come in time I guess, thanks for your imput
  18. Since when does a country having nuclear bombs make them unbeatable. I mean there basically just for show cause if you set one off another country with nuclear armament's (say Russia) would fire one at you and bye bye globe. (or at least half of it)
  19. No I hadn't noticed that... I guess I should thank you for keeping it open for people like me asking questions so thanks :)
  20. I'm not sure about where you are from but I have found up until the age of say 17, 18... most of the "inappropriate" contact happens between that of the same gender rather than opposite gender. all co-ed sleepovers I know of have been girls in one room guys in another which has always worked out well. admittedly all of my coed sleepovers have been with the AAC (Australian Army Cadets) were the male, female ratio is like 20:3 I still remember one of the officers on my first camp saying to the group on the 2nd night "we came here with 32 cadets, we do not want to leave with 32.5 If we catch anyone trying to make that .5 we will ring your parents and you will be taken home as soon as convenient and a possible discharge from cadets." It worked out well... whereas I have been to all female slumber parties where pictures are taken of the girls in inappropriate contact with each other on phones and then sent to the guys... whereas those who are forbidden from sleepovers are often neglected by their class mates... not all of these always happens, but just making sure you know possible consequences for all choices.
  21. Ok, yes that was what I meant... thanks... why are the LDS "services" separated into men and women? and what is meant by the term "Spirit Children"?
