  1. So do we or do we not believe blacks are cursed like this video says here? YouTube - A Mormon Explaining How Blacks are Cursed
  2. It is very problematic to think that God was once a sinner. Was Jesus once a sinner? Another problem is that God the Father didn't have a father above him. He is the supreme creator of all so to say that there was another God before him would definitely contradict the Bible. There is a fine, fine line between simply saying he had lived once on a mortal world and saying he had been placed on another Earth by another God and he was a sinner.
  3. Just out of curiousity... Why does Words of Mormon come before all the books that had happened prior to him writing that part of the book? I haven't read the Book of Mormon in a long time and I am reading it in order and I just finished that book but I don't understand why it was before other events which had happened.
  4. Well just on a side note the church discourages gambling and they request that you don't include a percentage of your income from gambling in your tithing to the church. Monetary values are necessary in life but thinking just about money all the time would mean you're seeking treasure in the wrong place.
  5. This was actually the winnings from the National "Mega Millions" Lottery. Not the Powerball Lottery. On occassion I do play the lottery even though gambling isn't the right thing to do. I heard she waited a week to claim the money she won and declined to speak to the lottery media when she claimed the money so I guess now I see why.
  6. I think by the final judgment you will have had plenty of time in your mortal and post-mortal life to know where you stand and have repented for your sins and made things right. If you haven't earned the Celestial Kingdom by your final judgment it is safe to say you probably never will.
  7. Okay well since it was implied that nobody can be respectful on here anymore when it comes to a controversial question, nobody answer the fricking question then, that will save us some head aches since nobody wants to talk about this.
  8. Well excuse me guys for not seeing the other threads. I am still kind of new here.
  9. Does it change their purpose if they are three separate Gods or if they are all one God? The only thing I ever saw in the Bible is them saying they are one. Does that mean one God or just one as being unanymous?
  10. It's a topic people bug me about constantly, and it doesn't make sense to me, so I don't really know how to defend it.
  11. I think I'll make a planet where the people have chicken like heads.
  12. I wish for once we would just take that cheek to the other side and hit them back where it hurts. Getting even makes me feel good most of the time, sad but true.
  13. So where is the glory? How can we end up still having the time to make all of our dreams come true if we are tied up with other tasks?
  14. It could have been misinterpreted by my teacher when I was in Young Men than. I just thought that maybe consider spirit paradise isn't a free ticket to the Celestial Kingdom that you didn't have to be baptized into the church just to go there.
  15. What I was informed of is that those who are in spirit prison cannot enter the Celestial Kingdom. So why should people like Mother Teresa be punished just because she did good elsewhere instead of in our religion?
  16. I just thought maybe what God meant is that when we receive our eternal progression we can be helping to do his work at a higher level as more of like a guardian angel. I really would rather not create a whole new planet unless it is in a video game.
  17. This thread has already answered my question so I don't need to be convinced by anyone anymore. I understand that times were different and that Brigham Young's ways of thinking were normal back then, but God still wouldn't have directed him to teach bad things about black people like he did so they were his own views and not the lord's. There is probably a reason certain teachings were and were not recorded in the scriptures, and the ones that are considered questionable are usually the ones that are part of sermons and teachings that are not in the scriptures.
  18. I think I created a monster with this thread
  19. What is not negative of not being able to inherit the celestial kingdom? Maybe the terrestrial life is good enough for you, so I guess that is where you're gonna go.
  20. No offense but I don't understand at all what this means.
  21. There is a teaching somewhere about us becoming Gods creating our own planets someday and that isn't in the scriptures so I don't know where whoever said it got it from. I don't know about you, but if I inherit the Celestial Kingdom and I find out for going there I need to create a planet and become God of it, then I didn't receive glory, I received eternal punishment by having to take on all the frustrations of God.
  22. All I know is that if you are sent to spirit prison that pretty much means you had gone through a pretty long period of darkness in your life that you refused to get out of and spent years denying God and his teachings that you at one time knew were right. In spirit prison you haven't had your final judgment yet but you cannot enter the Celestial Kingdom through Spirit Prison. The most you have to look forward to is a Terrestrial Life, which is of honorable people brighter than the Telestial Kingdom and hell, but still not with God.
  23. Okay but there is definitely something that remains out of place though. God the Father is the Supreme Creator as our beliefs say, so how could he had lived as a man to progress as God the Father? Where does the Book of Mormon say God was once a man? If it doesn't say it in there then why should we think these were more than just the personal views of God from Joseph Smith?
  24. Nobody cares enough about it to do that. They just want to find someone to trash all over. Matt and Trey claim they know everything about the Mormon church and are telling the truth about it so they will take their word for it. If I was a leader of the church I would wait until after opening night and then I would sue them and put them in debt. Revenge is sweet.
