  1. Indeed, it happens in reality. We get caught up with our callings and forget to date our wives. haha
  2. That is just wonderful. My two sisters-in-law are working in Dubai right now. I think I heard from them that there is already a Stake there and that Elder Holland visited there during their Stake Conference recently. The Church is indeed moving forward and cannot be stopped.
  3. I live in a city where there is not a single theater or cinema that can be found. The nearest theater is about an hour and a half bus ride away. We have a 2-month old baby girl and I just couldn't leave my wife alone with her at the house just to watch Thor. I guess I have to wait for two months for the movie to be out in dvd. And by that time, I'll make sure I watch the extra clip too. lol
  4. Oh wow. You still have 4 months to continue with your preparation. That is incredible. When my mission call arrived back in 2007 I only had barely a month left before I would enter the Manila MTC. Congratulations!
  5. IMHO, since you are a widow, all priesthood holders in your ward can be "your priesthood holder". All of them can be a source of help and assistance and blessing. And everyone are encouraged to give more loving attention to widows and fatherless. But of course, because your home teachers are assigned to you by inspiration they are primarily responsible in giving immediate assistance to you. So make sure you have their contacts and at times when you need priesthood blessing inform them first. That would give them a chance to magnify their calling and exercise their priesthood duties. Priesthood is all about service. We don't expect any compensation from whatever help we may extend. So don't worry about "your responsibility" to them because there no such thing as that. I hope I'm not missing the point here. : )
  6. Haha..mao pug lagi ako nadunggan daug daw Pacquaio. purte ra jud namo tawong gamaya sa Sacrament Meeting ganina. Taga Davao ko. Karun August puhon adto mi Cebu City Temple sa ako wife.
  7. Well, since Philippines is the only Christian country in Asia, we enjoy the freedom to participate in whatever religious activities we want to. On the other hand, Filipinos are very religious in nature and so public debates on religious issues is very common here. And the Church, as what happens in any part of the world I guess, gets a lot of attention from these sectarian groups.
  8. Hello Everyone, Happy Mother's Day from the Philippines! My name is Marlon. I've been a member of the church since 2005. I have served my mission here in our country and afterwards married my eternal companion in the Philippines Manila Temple. I currently serve as an Elders Quorum President in our branch. It's a humbling experience to become a member of His church and be able to serve His children here on Earth. I am looking forward to learn a lot from this community, to strengthen and to be strengthened. God bless. Marlon
