I just thought I would share this supply place that I found for humanitarian kits. Many of these things are also useful in general for 72 hour kits, etc. Christmas/Shower Present Ideas...Like I have bought the diapers, diaper pins and plastic pants and given them to family/friends for a "just in case" present. Even without a major calamity people can run out of disposables (okay running out of diapers can be a calamity) and they are better than using your towels, etc. Hygiene Kits - if you don't have one already in your 72 hour kit it would be a good idea to have them. Having fresh breath, combed hair and being able to at least sponge bathe can be a great thing when you have been outside for a time... Just thought I would share some thoughts this morning...I was pondering what President Hinckley meant by the emphasis on this scripture...(just like I wondered what the reason for President Monson choosing "Stand in Holy Places" for his title this past conference)... D&C 38 28 And again, I say unto you that the enemy in the secret chambers seeketh your lives. 29 Ye hear of wars in far countries, and you say that there will soon be great wars in far countries, but ye know not the hearts of men in your own land. 30 I tell you these things because of your prayers; wherefore, treasure up wisdom in your bosoms, lest the wickedness of men reveal these things unto you by their wickedness, in a manner which shall speak in your ears with a voice louder than that which shall shake the earth; but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear. *** So with that I went back to President Hinckley's talk and read the paragraphs before and after this quote to see what he may have been talking about... "Someone has said it was not raining when Noah built the ark. But he built it, and the rains came. The Lord has said, "If ye are prepared ye shall not fear" (D&C 38:30). I don't know if this is different calendars or cultures or ???...I know that depending on what group you belong to Passover starts at different times and is celebrated for different numbers of days, I imagine calendars may also be different on how their printed, or I could just be plain old mistaken it's been known to happen before. Regardless, when some Jews on this planet are waiting for Sundown (or whenever their rabbi says passover begins as it varies) on April 13th, others on our planet will have been observing the same passover already for almost 24 hours...to me that gives Providence some "leeway." These are signs in the heavens events, not a particular one that applies only to where we live personally.

I'm not sure what to say about that, what I have read is that... "All Jewish holidays begin the evening before the date specified on most calendars. This is because a Jewish "day" begins and ends at sunset, rather than at midnight." Note that in the Jewish calender, a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so observing Jews will celebrate Passover on the sunset of Monday, the 18th of April. Great thoughts. As for what President Packer meant by the "End of the World" it is hard to say as he basically only mentions it as a fear and not even as an event...I've heard it spoken of as "The End of the World as We Know It", "The End of the Wicked", "The Second Coming", etc. There will be an end to the way we've known it when the world is changed to a Terrestrial state, and then again when it changes to a Celestial one...

I believe that Pentecost will have more significance with the return of Christ to Earth in our generation, perhaps this will be it...all I can really say is that I see patterns in these things and so I believe there is significance... Thanks for your input! Char

Israel became a nation on Sivan 5th on the 360 calendar, but which was May 14 evening to May 15 evening in 1948. Israel became a nation at midnight May 14th ending, in 1948, upon the termination of the British mandate. Note: It can be shown that even the Jewish calendar of Iyar 6 could have been Sivan 6th {i.e., Pentecost} that year since the month began very late that year. Sivan 5th is Pentecost on the 360 calendar while Sivan 6th is Pentecost on the regular Jewish calendar. This is because the month of Iyar only has 29 days in it on the regular Jewish calendar, whereas the 360 calendar always has 30 days. Why Israel became a nation when it did, to the very day. Supposedly it was on the 360 day calendar..I do not know enough about this to defend this position, but this belief seems to be fairly well accepted in the evangelical community. FWIW

Sorry, I'm afraid it is your statements that don't really hold up well to scrutiny. October 8, 1949 was Sukkot/Tabernacles...and I think that these tetrads are very impressive as they are fairly rare to begin with and extremely rare for them to fall on Jewish Feast Days year after year. The last 2000 years of "man's days" have to end sometime within the next 25 years...IMHO after "man's days" we will be into the millennium... There may be significance to 2017-2018 but what that might be would be pure speculation!!!...although it couldn't be Christ's third appearance in Glory as much has to happen before then. The truth is I care about and appreciate you all. I'm sorry, I should never have used that four letter word that begins with "f" and ends with an "r" as it is a loaded word and isn't what I want people to feel anyway. I wish there were a way to help more of my brothers and sisters see the need for some "life preservers" in their life's boat...especially as there are unpredictable and uncharted seas ahead with the storm we know is coming. You are correct though, changes only happen through faith and openness to the whisperings of the Spirit. I hope as you have read the words of the prophets they have touched your hearts. Unfortunately, my editorializing has not helped and only hindered their message...again, I'm sorry about that. You my friends are among the noble and great ones, many of you were saved for this final inning to lead the Kingdom of God triumphantly in these last days. You are my brothers and sisters and I care about you and want the best for you. May the Spirit touch your hearts and may you follow the Spirit's promptings in all things that you may have all that you need both spiritually and temporally to make it through the rough waters ahead.
