  1. I've always thought God could be a super advanced race/being. This thread is very interesting to me.
  2. I agree. The only way someone would be ready for a Godly vision would be someone who is definitely worthy and has unshaken faith (in my opinion). The 3rd one I spoke of I have encountered while under the influence of pscylocybin/pscylocin. I completely swore off ever doing those again as they can really be much like a nightmare coming to life or getting a taste of what hell might be like.
  3. It's a law that's broken and draining the tax money that could be used in so many other ways. Our economy could have much gain if we'd decriminilize it.
  4. I still love obese people as many of my family is, but I don't sympathize for them being fat. I never mock them, but I do sometimes just shake my head that people are addicted to food as much if not more as a drug and don't care about the dangers of obesity.
  5. Unless you have some illness that makes it impossible to lose the weight, I think obese people are lazy and just as bad in society as a drug addict except that they don't deal with the shady people. They ruin lives by not taking care of themself and leaving families to fend for themselves when they have a heart attack at age 30. There IS something most people can do about it and it doesn't require hours upon hours a day of physical exercise.
  6. I don't know much about science or Michio, but I have just started listening to his ideas and things, and he seems smart. Thanks for your insight Vort :)
  7. I see. I think I'm coming to understand more now. You do sound like you know a good deal about the scriptures :)
  8. So you're saying everything Michio Kaku tells us such as Time Travel, gateways, lazers, and on and on isn't useful? He's a pretty smart fellow ya know.
  9. Hasn't the Large Hadron Collider been used with many of String Theories ideas? The LHC has discovered 2 new elements on the Periodic Table. That's pretty useful no?
  10. I haven't heard of those other theories. Interesting stuff. I'll have to check it out. I just enjoy a lot of what Michio Kaku brings to the table even though he's not LDS. He's a genius man and I believe a lot of what he says.
  11. I'm not saying we are music that you can necessarily listen to, I just thought it was more of something kind of interesting to think about. We are in a sense, music, but we're not just some random song someone is playing either. I also believe God to be a scientist and all of the rest as you explained. He'd have to be in order to put it all together. The fact music inspires us was more of a tangent, but still interesting how a lot of things are related to "music" in a special way.
  12. If the person was involved in killing or any other crime besides posessing, then of course they deserve to be in jail. I'm talking about people like Willie Nelson who harmed no one. I know what I'm talking about as I knew a lot of people who were the ones with pounds of the stuff. Most of them deal with other things and are shady, so they are not the ones I'm talking about. I'm talking about the others. I'm not putting them into one category and saying they're all innocent. Punish them for the real crimes they committed, not the possession.
  13. Thanks all! I know I worded it funny, I'm not personally marrying a Bishop. My fiance and I found a Bishop to perform the wedding ceremony! wooohooo, now I can start to extinguish my bitterness towards church-members who are not undrstanding and unwilling to help less active members.
  14. I would recommend talking to your bishop about temple matters. Looking online for that information is not the place to look for sacred information.
  15. Yes, this past week was one of the most stressful of my life and my faith in Heavenly Father was not in vain. I adopted my pug last August. He's 5 years old. His name was "Pugsley" which I thought was absolutely LAME!!! So I renamed him Henry, something similar sounding and fitting for his look. I never knew I could love a pet as much as I do him. Just having him as a pet proves to me God exists. I literally have felt my dog's spiritual love for me and I'm dreading the day he will pass away. He's like my first child haha. Pugs ROCK.
  16. We know they definitely weren't black. So I would say they could have been just about any other race. I always lean towards a tanned-skinned race as people most likely were in the sun a lot back then.
  17. There are prisons full of good people who were busted with a few pounds of weed. Our tax payer dollars are paying for them to be in prison, so both they suffer and we suffer because of this illogical law. Yes let's ruin people's lives who believe in "unity" and "one love" because, heaven forbid people be unified. It's a joke and if you don't think so, open your eyes. The law is supporting evil people's way of life and people are dying because it's illegal. Even if the church doesn't want members doing weed, it should STILL be legalized just to save innocent lives alone.
  18. This theory really has me wondering if it's true. Music itself has been a huge influence in my life and it most definitely has an effect positively or negatively on one's soul. We sing hyms in church and God's angels play harps and trumpets no? Wouldn't it only make sense that scientifically we are made of strings vibrating to certain frequencies and this is why music has such a huge effect on us? I've played the guitar for 14 years and in my eyes, music has more effect on us that we can comprehend. How can hearing sounds played a certain way relieve stress, inspire us, uplift us when sad, make your brain smarter? It's always boggled my mind. Being a musician, I wouldn't doubt String Theory is true and the universe is God's cosmic music being played through 11 dimensional hyperspace. The part of String Theory I'm not so sure about is the parallel universes. I'm kind of iffy to believe that part of it, but I still think it's an interesting theory.
  19. After much stress, praying, and hard work, I have found a bishop to marry me. Hip hip hoooooraaaaaaaaaaaay!
  20. I agree to disagree :) It sounds like you have some bitterness built up inside yourself and I'm sorry you feel this way. I find it insulting you would see God's way of creation and plan for us is a self-centered thing as the most important wisdom we're taught is to love thy neighbor/brother. You do realize life on earth could be quite a bit worse and not as physically beautiful as it is, right? Life is BEAUTIFUL, and physical looks are beautiful or ugly to you because of the society you've grown up in and live in. Do you think indigenous people think we are beautiful? Probably not. The after life has quite a bit higher and deeper meaning than physical "beauty". Uniqueness and differences are gifts, not curses. If you don't like how you look, quit blogging about it and do something about it. Easier said than done, but all the energy you've put into this thread could have been used to go to the gym, or discuss health tips on a health bulletin board instead of scrutenizing the reason God made us look physically different.
  21. You're preaching to the choir here I am a body builder :) I was actually referring to the after life, the physical appearance of our resurrected body. But you are absolutely right! We can change just about everything here on earth, be it our personality, outlook on life, phsyical appearance, health, etc. I do also like that statement made earlier how if everyone were to truly care for their bodies physically, just about everyone would look quite attractive (physically).
  22. You have some very valid points. I agree that just the fact that it can put you in situations with shady dangerous people, it needs to be avoided. I 110% agree
  23. What I don't understand is what is the purpose for knowing this information? You can't change the way things are or will be, so what's the point? Enjoy life and it's beauty for what it is. Asking God, "why did you do things this way" is almost pointless. I guess you might get a better understanding, but the question is quite complex.
