just got word of a 3rd mission "New Zealand Hamilton Mission" opening here in new zealand soon. direct from a current mission president of the New Zealand Wellington Mission. i'm expecting as well as this there will be a bunch of others announced shortly too, obviously to accommodate the surge of missionaries coming with the age changes. soo exciting.

what happens when the intake of missionary fluctuates back down to normal levels? i just feel like it's compromising the core of the LDS program in Mexico. a large majority of active members in mexico went to this school. for many faithful, hardworking, mexican lds this was their only opportunity at a good education in a place where it is otherwise very hard to come by. as well as it being mormon operated which provided a spiritual foundation for these students to remain active lds and go on to become the leaders of the lds church in mexico. just like in new zealand when they closed church college in 2006, the lds youth go to public schools being severely outnumbered and many just easily slip away.

i find it a little sad that they are putting education second here. this school obviously did a lot of good for lds in mexico, bit of a shame.

despite not being with the church for whatever reason, they never denied their witness of the divinity of the book of mormon.

well the question seems to be sufficiently answered but i thought i'd add that i've read of apostles/GAs donating all their 'stipend' back to the church because they didn't need it.

been waiting for 2 months already. stil got 58 days to go, lol.

*how close together the availability and reporting dates are the general rule is your report date will not exceed 1 month from your availability date. my mission travel co-ordinator told me this. *if there's a pattern to reporting dates (all missionaires report on Fridays or something) all missionaries report to the MTC on wednesdays. this is a given. *how close to Christmas they have missionaries report to the MTC missionaries report every week to the MTC, christmas is irrelevant to this. *when I should turn in my papers/what's the timeline for me if I want to leave Dec 2013. as soon as you can (the 120 days rule). that way you can ensure you will leave between your birthday and before christmas. hope this helps.

hey bro, welcome to the site. not often i see another kiwi here, so good to have you here. i'm from dunedin, but i'm going on my mission to the Micronesia Guam mission in march. hope everything goes well with your conversion! it will be one of the most defining decisions of your life. p.s you should come to the YSA national conference in Auckland over new years! it's gonna be o for awesome

its been 3 weeks since i got my mission call but i still have about 4 months to wait! feels like sooo long. just wanna get out to guam already

Missionary Alec Morgan Ragan Missing In Palmerston... | Stuff.co.nz yeah, this is the guy who tried ditching his mission, he's actually a missionary where i live, in the New Zealand Wellington Mission. a missionary in my branch served with him and said he has a few mental issues. he also looks like he is 12 and is apparently mocked all the time. he didn't actually ditch, he just ran away and wanted time out.. and he came back/was found 2 days ago. poor kid.

i leave march 14th, and it's english speaking so i will only be going to the New Zealand MTC! haha

i heard the news and thought wow thats pretty cool so many have turned their papers in. then i thought, how the heck do people finish mission applications in less than 2 weeks when it took me about 5-6 weeks all up. lol it's only an increase in missionary applications started.
