  1. I never said my strange fears were right, and reading them myself, they do seem very silly.

I also know I would get panic attacks, and perhaps they would have advice on that. I have never really asked a missionary about that, I find it to be embarassing at times.

No one would want to admit to a Bishop "hey I don't want to go church because I am quite afraid of meeting new people and making a total idiot of myself as I seem to be prone to do"

  2. there is a story, or rather a series of short stories, I'd like to put on here.

I donno however, they might be offensive.

Its about 3 characters (faeries) and their, well basically thoughts and interaction with humanity and our ways.

Things like food, sports and religion come up, I donno... I mean Clover offends lots but that's her character.

You're not supposed to agree with her.

  3. I know for people I know or knew, it was more they disagreed heavily with the church and dogma of religion, then the actual belief in God itself.

I have family that belief in God and Jesus but don't go to church of any sort. It would take a while to explain all the beliefs and reasoning behind it.

I think for me the church issue is a tad simpler to talk about, I am just really shy. I didn't go seek out other Wiccans or Neo Pagans when I was a part of that and I wouldn't go to an LDS meetinghouse (that's the right word right?) if I converted (well I'd go to one, obviously once to beptized, but one in another city so no one where I live would know and find me).

I am just a very solitary individual and well bizarre.

  4. On the last day of my mission I sat down with my mission president for a final interview and he said

" Elder .... what ever you do don't go less active" I nearly turned to him and said " are you out of your mind, why would I ever consider going less active?

While I never have I know peope who have and sometimes I scratch my head wondering what happened.

I think sometimes people get confused between the church and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I got to church first and foremost to worship God.

Sometimes people struggle with faith and belief. I've wondered my entire life what path is right for me, I find something and there is something within that faith I strongly disagree with or just don't believe in.

What do you do when you wonder of the belief of God and there are no answers that satisfy your questions.

  5. I always think its neat when religious music crosses into other genres... Christian Death Metal for example

I play the flute myself... not well but its a slow process, any of the songs I've recorded don't have any words to them... I never know what to say lol

    welcome

  6. This is why it is vital for parents to take a much greater role in the proper raising of their children with the standards of Christ. Parents are intrinsically accountable by their very place as teacher, example, and leader of the family.

Parents do their children a disservice by teaching them that there ought not to be consequences for actions. That is the voice of the adversary which teaches such things.

standards alone, I mean Athiests aren't going to teach their children the standards of Christ, but not all Athiest parents are bad.

Like there are good Christians, there are good Athiests, and like there are bad Athiests there are bad Christians

  7. oh yes, I know that all too well... an idea can hit anywhere and I often carry a pen and paper to record it down.

I usually type on computer. My mood always dictates how quickly I can write. When I have a spell of anger or sadness, I can't write a thing...

It's gotten harder the older I get.

  8. I think that the problem is that this man almost doesn't exist. I mean, okay, there are probably guys like that sometimes. And I try my best to read my wife and tell what she wants. I think the longer we are married, the more likely it is that I will be successful at that. But romantic movies tell a fantasy story about a relationship, and the ability to read a woman perfectly is as much a superpower as Superman's ability to fly.

I found, the vast majority of men don't understand women and the vast majority of women don't understand men.

There is a lot of ideals both have for eachother, created by various places.

Least from what I've seen that's the case

  9. I try not to, its hard... with that and the lack of proper social skills (aspergers is my curse in life) I see it as there's nothing I can do.

I don't enjoy talking about my sorrows and such, but sometimes it needs to be said, the true hopelessness of it all, I need to say it, as for it not to consume me.

  10. people like some of what I write... the stuff I pour my emotion and soul into... problem is, that stuff is very dark and gloomy and I find it very hard to reread it for editing (I was in a bad place emotionally when I wrote The Book of Sleeping Thought")

So I do hope people like my fantasy novels more

  11. I was having a conversation with a Latter-day Saint who believes that our Spirits are made up of matter. His justification for this is D&C 131:7-8.

I'm curious how this would work? How does a material Spirit body fit with our material Flesh and Bone body in any sense? Do the Spirit particles sit between the flesh and bone particles? If you loose an arm are you loosing part of your Spirit body as well?

Just curious, I hold to the classical Christian view that the Spirit is immaterial.

never heard that before, closest to something like that I have heard was in Wicca but... twas a little different.

  12. And if you can get enough like-minded people to agree with you, you are free to change the social contract (the laws and Constitution) to reflect your belief.

Until that happens, however, you do not have veto authority over the rest of us.

All I said is I didn't know how to respond to that

not that I had athority over anyone and btw, where I live, Canada, same sex marriage is legal

  13. There is a lot of things humans once did-lets use America as an example

Slavery, that's certainly immoral. Wasn't always so.

Back in the day it was accepted, like polygamy or that women were less then men.

Things like that, just examples of things changed in our semi-modern day which we look back on and wonder how we could ever think that way.

I really don't know how to respond to the whole "God's eternal standards" I don't believe what you do.

I'm not an Athiest, but I don't believe I will be judged for belieivng in gay marriage.

Thowing beliefs like that will get us no where, as I said, we're not at all on the same page and it will only amount to "you'll be judged" and me replying with "I don't believe in that"
