This is another one, something more from my imagination, say the look from a cottage, and the day is cloudy but it doesn't seem like it will rain so perhaps you could go out on a boat or something nice like that.

This one's painted on an envalope that I will send to my pen pal.

  2. True. But what puzzles me is why they all seem to make the leap to highly sexualized material and presentation. Is it because they feel like teens no longer listen and adults think they are a teen only artist?

sex sells, look at any beer commercial... or toothpaste commercial...or clothing- point is, to a great percent, sex sells and the music industry is no different then the beer or toothpaste industry, easiest way to stay afloat and make a dime

  3. I haven't seen an NHL game live, but I've noticed a lot more fighting in our little ECHL team than what I've glimpsed of the NHL on TV. I believe there is some controversy over fighting in hockey isn't there?

yes and no... no one really minds much in the minor leagues, in the NHL these players make millions and don't want to miss days or weeks over a broken nose or what not.

There are some but... I've never heard any Canadian say them... well and be taken at all seriously anyways

  4. I believe in a God, a creator-something that I cannot comprehend. But it never felt natural to pray to such a being, and I have not really prayed in a great many years.

When I was a neo-pagan I "gave thanks" to the sun and moon and earth, for sustaining the life of the world.

I am not an athiest, never have been.

Do I believe Jesus existed, yes, do I believe he was the Son of God, I don't know.

I do know even if I became a Mormon or a Baptist or anything, I'd still be a "loner" (I am not a social butterfly by any means and can never concentrate properly in a great big room of people).

  5. I am happy to see so many hockey fans here! We are crazed hockey fans in our home. We love our Blackhawks and our AHL team, the Wolves! We have been to baseball games, but it seemed like torture. You can read a book, do some crocheting, visit with everyone, and play a game of Monopoly in between interesting parts of a baseball game.

this is my first playoff season outside Ottawa... and Toronto is closer:huh:

so... normally I'd route for the Canadiens...but they are facing Ottawa in the first round...

so I'll stay loyal to my home team despite not being at home

As a small boy I always found painting impossible, in high school I started to paint various miniatures for a bunch of wargames, losing total appeal for them in my early 20s.

But painting a banner on one of them, I found my style and what I wanted to paint- landscapes.

This particular painting is about a little, what I assumed was some sort of storage area in the middle of nowhere, with a single light standing close by.

I felt like adding some spring time snow, as here in Canada, snow will fall well into April depending where you are.

My paintings are never very big (the smallest was on a penny) but are always a lot of fun.

More will be added as I find them or paint them:lol:

  7. I would love to go to a professional hockey game. One of my favorite things to come out of Canada... Hockey!

I did a quick search on Hockey in Canada, is your league the IHL? Or is the NHL simply united in both countries and considered a multi national league?

its the NHL here too, even if we have like... 7 teams out of who knows how many (or if you live in Quebec, LNH...cause French)

there's a few minor Canadian leagues like the OHL-been to those too

being Canadian I played it alot as a kid, I was always the goalie because I couldn't run or skate fast. I also never wore a helmet of any kind, and playing it again for fun as an adult (and having to wear a helmet) gives it a challenge I'll say:lol:

But the injuries I could have had... wooden sticks were cheaper then plastic, so everyone usually always had wood...I did make a cup out of an old elbow pad, and later, much later got a jason style mask, though I'd only wear it on ice.

  8. Though I am not ready to buy a house, I still done a lot of reading and looking, as to be more informed by time the time comes...

Doesn't have a big list of needs.

    I don't drive so a garage doesn't matter

I don't have a family so the number of rooms doesn't matter

    all that matters is quiet.

Perks include a shed, a big yard so I can have chickens and or bees, and somewhere I can sit outside or hang a hammock

  9. I agree with this.

But in my marriage, it doesn't always work out. This would have been the perfect scenario, but reality in my marriage goes like this:

Mrs. Anatess: Cut this tree down. I hate it, I hate it, I want it gone now!

Mr. Anatess: What are you talking about? That tree has been there for years and you said not even a week ago it's so pretty when it flowers in the spring!

Mrs. Anatess: I don't care what I said last week, I don't care what I said yesterday. I want that tree cut today.

Mr. Anatess: Okay, something is going on, I have no clue what it is, and I'm getting a headache trying to figure out what you want. So, if you really want me to cut the tree, I'll cut the tree. If you are just venting, then I won't cut the tree and I'll just stand here pretending I have an idea what you're talking about. If that is not helping, then I'm going to go watch football and just come get me when you figure out what you want me to do. So, should I go get the axe, or should I just stand here, or can I go watch football?

Mrs. Anatess: Why should I have to be the one to figure out what you should do! You should just do something to make me feel better! And I hate football!

Mr. Anatess: Okay. Stop yelling. Let's go watch a movie. You liked that Croods movie let's see it again. How's that?

Mrs. Anatess: Okay, that just might work.

LOL! Yeah, that's my husband. And I sooooo love that about him. It doesn't really solve my problem at that moment but I calm down enough to think things through until I figure out what exactly it is I want from him so I can tell him exactly what it is I want him to do. LOL!!!

So, at least in my marriage, I don't expect him to understand me nor me him all the time. Because that's really really hard to do. But we're both willing to help the other understand what we're trying to say. LOL.

I shouldn't be giving marriage advice. My marriage is not your typical sweet romantic story.

well you have a marriage, more that can be said for me

methinks if its successful in any way you can give some kind of advice

  10. I think, at least for me as a young teen it was there because of lonelyness. I got bored of it by time I hit my 20s. I always, to myself said I would get rid of it all, if I met someone and was in a relationship but at 24 I've never been in any relationship so...

but it outgrew its usefulness, to me, long ago and I am fine with being alone. It is just a reminder of a bygone age to me
