  1. It's fine, but I'll add that you may want to make sure it's okay with his mission rules. On my mission, we could only send emails to immediate family members and the mission president.
  2. I don't know, the Savior was okay with eating fish after the Resurrection. Who knows, though.
  3. I'd have to look it up, but I was under the impression that it wasn't a requirement for the whole Church, only the individuals the Lord commanded. Temple marriage was still required, but not necessarily polygamy.
  4. I also understand that when it comes to relationships, especially marriage, any personal revelation will be given to both people involved, not just one. This is the same thing as some desperate menace to society telling a young woman, "I prayed and the Lord told me we're supposed to be married!"
  5. I'm almost done with the second book myself. There're sexual descriptions in the book, usually lasting about a paragraph, maybe two. At best you just know that two characters had sex, at worst (so far) you know what's been touched. George R.R. Martin's also very clearly a big fan of women's breasts, so you'll generally be learning about them if a female character is given much description. As far as violence, I can't think of any examples of the book being graphic about it. Granted, I notice sexual stuff much more than I do violence.
  6. Not to criticize or anything, but if this is the case, then why make threads focused on him?
  7. I'd imagine their response would be something similar to some blessings requiring prayer before the Lord gives them to us. I don't agree with this particular interpretation, but I can see how one might.
  8. This, very much.A friend of mine had an unresolved issue (no sex, but still chastity related) that wound up getting him sent home from the MTC. Chances are that he would have been allowed to serve had he talked about it with the bishop and stake president first (as opposed to leaving it up the Quorum of the Twelve, who, despite their calling, have much more important things to do than fast and pray over one Elder's mistake). Sadly, he's inactive now (though some church members really didn't help with that).
  9. Hey, everyone. Joined this site back before my mission (Brazil Florianópolis), but haven't bothered to post until now, despite my periodic lurking. So... not sure what else to write, really. I'm a bit of a geek (video games, computers, sci-fi/fantasy, etc), was born in the Church, etc. So yeah, that's me.
