  1. I didn't get the impression from Dr. T's post that he was swaying anyone away from anything. I think he was just adding thoughts from his perspective as a Christian and that is valuable. I didn't think he was saying we are not Christian. I hope not anyway. I want to know how anyone arrives at truth. That interests me profoundly.
  2. .. all of you it's just so moving!!! C'mon... group hug!
  3. taking notes.... and did you say Becca? Who's that? (tis my name too!)
  4. Here's an upbeat thought... you are already at 66 posts! Soon we'll be having a party for YOU!
  5. But then I wouldn't have had this party!
  6. I'll have to do that! I have a hard time in chat it will be better when I know more people I think.
  7. Not that anyone else is WRONG.. it's not about that. It's just about finding TRUTH. If one doesn't feel their Church is TRUE or it isn't answering their questions...they should keep on searching!
  8. This is exactly the case. It is correct to reach for God wherever you happen to be standing. When you sincerely align yourself with God, Truth follows. It really is that simple. You are entitled to your agency. Use it! God is Truth, and He'll direct you where your sincerity allows him to. When you are aligned with Him, your soul will connect with that which is true and you will be confident and peaceful about it. We learn line upon line, and God gives us no commandment that he isn't sure we can follow through with. You just need to relax and listen... to quiet communications with your soul. It's not wrong to question.. it's wrong not to listen to Him answer you. (Very hard to overcome ourselves in doing this... ) but it is the key.
  9. Thank you for responding to my question Abraham. I just want to add to what you said by saying, that I believe anyone seeking God's presence in their life has Truth in them... God is Truth after all. So there IS no reason to argue and be critical of another's belief but every reason in the world to keep searching that Truth which is in you. I believe this is WHY our church doesn't spend any time at the pulpit dismissing other churches or challenging their doctrine.
  10. I've never heard of MADB what is that? You don't feel ignored here do you? You can play the song game with me... the three word story game and the person above me game. It's in general conversation and it's very light. I just hit senior member yesterday and only one person came to my party (sniff- sniff) Maybe I'm annoying but I just start posting, all over the place otherwise it's easy to feel invisible eh? These people already know each other... or maybe they DON'T! I joined two weeks ago Jiggly. You can hang out with me!
  11. upon closer inspection.. she DID say that didn't she. Still I had to make sure I wasn't missing something! LOL

  16. and why are we having one of the coldest winters on record?
  17. but some of their buildings DO have windows Abraham.... (click on my link in my other post to see) So... since you seem to have connections I have a lil question: A couple JW Lady Missionaries came by. I had a lovely 'superficial' conversation with them, and took their watch tower. They came back and remember'd my name (must have written it down) they knew I was LDS and came back anyway so we chatted some more. They wouldn't come in (is that a thing with them?) we chatted pleasantly they mentioned a girl in their congregation knowing a girl with my last name and it was of course my daughter... I recalled being told that she'd had doctrinal type discussions with her so I mentioned that. The lady looked shocked! I said "Isn't that great that they can share and learn from each other without debating... just dispelling curiosities and rumors." (both religions seem to be riddled with both eh?) She had a hard time recovering visibly from her shock... but we went back to pleasantries and they said they'd come back. Sadly they never have. I studied their book and had questions!! (It seems they don't believe it was ever God's plan for man to die.) So did I get that lil girl in trouble? I read somewhere that they have to report indiscretions to the Elders. Her look of shock is haunting me now.
  18. Well jello Jigglysaint! hahahah I swear that was a typo... but I'm LEAVNING IT! I meant to say 'hello' (P ower of suggestion!) So... where ya been? I think I'm the only one in here tonight sheesh
  19. Ah... I googled it. I found one article that said "Old Mormons never die... they just smell like they did!" LOL I didn't bother to click on it. But I did click on this one. The last paragraph states what Dale was saying... they are Kirkland Mormons. You can see the difference here: Church History - Google Book Search I should say, the book was written by By Johann Heinrich Kurtz, who was a German Lutheran Theologian born in 1809 and died in 1890. He was a respected and well published writer and was THERE when and active in his career when the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was organized by Joseph Smith. I am certain he had a profession interest in what was going on.
  20. Mahonri LOL!!! That was the VERY first thought I had.. that my dad would call himself an old mormon! LOL
