What an interesting topic. The Kingdom Hall in our town does not have windows, but I googled around a bit and it seems that many of them do. I know it's a big link but you can see for yourself below. There are also images without them. It does not logically follow then, that this is a 'thing' for them. I would imagine then that it is a cost issue. I read that it saves on air conditioning costs to have no windows. I think they try to be frugal and thats it. They build their buildings with their 'watch tower' funds, so that may be donations?

haha It's hard not to get wordy when you want to be thorough! It's important to get it right. Still- I admire people who can say SO much with very little words. THAT is a skill. I may go over to FAIR and take a peak this afternoon. It's a cold blizzardly day so I'm staying in!

You could have gone anywhere on the internet the day you joined but you came HERE to an LDS forum because you soul wants to connect with that which is in you. I am a lifetime member and I've never been inactive so I can tell you this from my standpoint: I've never been anything but happy to see people come back to church... especially if they are doing it for their children! It's always great when new personalities join the congregation it adds wonderful flavor to the pot. I've had 'problems' and/or issues with people before but I never let other people make me feel unwelcome in MY CHURCH. Everyone belongs. It's a hospital for sinners not a museum for Saints... right? Like Pushka said, you can always find reasons to keep you away. The world is changing and your family needs the gospel. Enjoy this site, I've only been here two weeks myself, and there seems to be along going on. You can post in the forum, start or join a discussion, drop in the chatroom, make your profile really kewl, blog, upload pictures for investigators... you can bear your testimony and share the gospel and our culture with non-members....

Hi Winnie, I just read your post. I don't know you but I am 'feeling' for you right now. I lost my mother to cancer too, it was some time ago but not so long that I can't imagine your grief. The older women in your life are gone... that makes you the matriarch. I'm sure they gave you so much and you are more than qualified to step up. May the spirit comfort you today!
