  1. But Canada has Swiss Chalets. I remember the chicken sandwich there as being really really good.
  2. I know of a Kingdom Hall in the foothills in California that has a big window right behind where the speaker stands. I guess deer walk by sometimes...deer are a great distraction!
  3. Those sound good, like a whoopie pie. These are pretty much the same as the lemon cookies only with chocolate cake mix instead of lemon cake mix. You're right about the Thai food. I could use some green curry chicken right about now!
  4. Yes the ones with the cake mix! Oh those are so good! I found a similar recipe the other day for chocolate cookies made with cake mix. I can't wait to try those. I think I actually managed to under cook them... Wow, how did you manage to make me crave Thai food at 10:00 in the morning?
  5. I love BBQ chicken pizza! Pizza with shrimp is really good too! That chocolate souffle sounds delicious! Take some brie or goat cheese and spread on apple slices. What a great fast snack! Why is it that nothing is ever as good when we try and make it at home as opposed to eating at a restaurant? Or even when someone else makes it for us? A friend of mine made these delicious lemon cookies. They were sooooo good and moist. I got the recipe and tried them myself and they just weren't as delicious. I'm usually a pretty good baker and the recipe was super simple. But the cookies were sadly lacking. Sigh.
  6. I am dating an ex-JW. He was disfellowshipped and since his family is still all active he can't talk to any of them. He wants to go back and become active again and I want to support him in doing this, but at the same time I'm kinda scared. Right now he is going with me to my services. But has not been impressed at all and still thinks that we're wrong and what the JWs believes is right. He even talked with the missionaries, but they had a hard time answering his questions. His biggest issue is that we celebrate Christmas...Does anyone know how I can explain this to him? How we celebrate it yes, but not as a pagan holiday? Please help!
  7. Hi everyone! I'm new here. I am just looking for some nice folks to chat with. I just moved back to Caliofornia from Maine, where I was baptized. My ward there was wonderful. Everyone there became my new family. While in California there are many more members, the community is not as close knit as it was in Maine. So being a rather new member, the transition has been hard. Luckily my testimony has not suffered. Well, that is just a little bit about me!:)
  8. The story of the Brother of Jared has inspired me the most and help to strengthen my testimony. How amazing is it to have such a strong faith that it can lift the veil if only enough to see the fingers of Heavenly Father.
  9. I found the first book at an LDS bookstore. I had a friend recommend the series so I figured I would pick it up. When I bought the book the clerk warned me that she had some complaints about it being sold there, that maybe it wasn't appropriate. This kinda made me curious... Once I started this book I couldn't put it down! What a great read for a rainy day!
  10. All this talk about the Olive Garden is making me hungry! I know it's cliche, but my favorite food is pizza. There are so many variations. I think the best pizza I ever had was in Albuquerque, NM in a little pizzaria downtown. Wow was it good! I like trying pizza in all the places I travel. I also like to try chocolate mousse, which isn't as easy to find as pizza. Best chocolate mousse I've had so far was in a Brazilian restuarant in Las Vegas, NV. I love Mexican food. I've lived in California my entire life and I've never craved Mexican food so much as I did while living in Maine for 5 months. I guess I took good Mexican food for granted! I've also been searching for the worst Mexican food in the United States. A resturant in Fargo, ND is winning at this point. I could talk about food all day! What a great post topic!!!!!!
