  1. I get a sense from what you have been saying that your real question is your relationship with your husband and if you should continue working things out with him. This is such a personal and difficult decision and one that needs to be taken to your Heavenly Father. It sounds like you don't have such a good relationship with your husband right now, whether that stems from his long addiction, trust issues, his family, or that you just can't stand him. I think that asking your Heavenly Father, and yourself if it is worth it is a good start. God doesn't want you to be unhappy, and he would help you either way, if it is better for you both to separate, or to work it out.
  2. It is a good idea to have service projects together and most churches have some service projects going on that invite people non-members to join in. But the fact of the matter is that missionary work is an essential part to this church. It is unfortunate that the people that you have talked to have had a bad experience with the missionaries. But there is no possible way that we could have as many members that we do without the missionary work. My Father was converted by missionaries and I am eternally grateful for the missionary program. The is changes made in the missionary program every once in a while, but mostly it teaches missionaries to use the spirit as their guide. I understand that sometimes missionaries may get a little overzealous but they just want to share what they know with others.
  3. Wait so are you saying that animals will be held accountable for being gay? So these penguins are committing some sort of sin? I don't understand how an animal could be held accountable to the laws seeing as they don't understand them, or even know that its wrong. I think that Homosexuality can be a natural part of some people, that is not to say that it is right we are told specifically that its not. It is for those people who have those feelings to put off the natural man.
  4. What? I am not trying to be rude but what did your story have to do with this one about President Obama? You say you are aware that the dad Who is her legal guardian checked her out, so it is obviously not the same situation or even close to the one in your story. Obviously the President didn't check the girl out of school. The point that you keep missing is that the note was obviously not a serious note, he was trying to make it a special moment for the girl and her father. I am sure they don't even need a note from anyone seeing as she was already checked out. I don't think that you have to have the same opinion as everyone else, and I am really not trying to drag your opinion through the mud...this is just my opinion on your opinion.

    Mission

Ok I know that this isn't a matter of life or death or even all that important, but i would like to hear some of your ideas! I am almost 21 a girl and so my mission papers are turned in and I am really excited, I am supposed to get them one week from today, and we are inviting those people that are important to me over while I open it, and i was just wondering if anyone had any cool ideas to do or that they did when they opened their call? you know like having people write on a map where they think you are going and stuff like that? any ideas or thought or anything would be appreciated! ok as a side note i was wondering if anyone knows any good talks, quotes, inspiring things on the topic of forgiveness?
  6. I agree with the other posts that you do need to give yourself more credit! you are doing better and that is what you should focus on. That is good news about wanting to go on a mission! For what its worth I think you can make it!
  7. Yeah i definitely agree with Pam. The fast Passes are the best way to go! disneyland and California Adventure are the best i wish i could go again! but yeah get passes for the rides that usually have the longest wait. and then go ride something else and come back at that time.
  8. I think that she doesn't even meet the standard for an average parent. I think that we are responsible to judge her for the sake of her children, all children deserve a home where they are safe and have all of their needs met. Having children intentionally when these conditions are not met is selfish and irresponsible. The children are the most important in this case and i do agree a solution should be found to provide for them.
  9. I think that this mother has very serious mental issues. It is insane to have even six children while you don't have a house of your own and live with your mother. I really think that the doctor that implanted knew how unstable an environment that these children would live in, and was in error in going through with the process. The current living environment that these 14 children will be in would not meet the standards for a foster care family. Three of the Six children have special needs, so chances are that some of the six will have similar problems. I do disagree with some people who say that single women don't have a business have children. I mean with all of the children who are need in loving parents i really don't think that it is wrong for a single women to adopt. I know that it is more ideal to have a mother and a father, but if a women can provide it is so much better for the child to have a loving home, then to be forgotten in the system until they are 18.
  10. I really like eggs so i plan on going to all the easter egg hunts and steal all i can from the little children that are there, to add to my collection of eggs.....just kidding i am just trying to make a list of places that are having easter egg hunts, for my cousin and her babies..cause she asked me to... and i do what i am told!

    Mission

I love the gospel with all of my heart and i know that its true i have no doubt about that..Same with Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. I am so grateful for the atonement and Jesus Christ, and what he has done for me and everyone. I have no doubt in my heart for any part of the church or what i have been taught. I just have a lot of mixed feelings if i am supposed to go or not.

    Mission

Hi i am almost 21 and the time is coming for me to decide if i would like to go on a mission or not. I am praying and fasting about it, and don't feel i have received an answer either way yet. I was just looking for some advice... i would love to here from other women that served a mission, whats a mission like and etc. any comments would be helpful and appreciated.
  14. Hi everyone i wasn't sure where to post this but i am looking for a talk that was given by Boyd K. Packer, and it was on the savior, it was given i while ago like i want to say 70's or 80's. If you could help me and post the link or anything! thanks!
  15. I totally agree with Winnie, i really think there is a big pressure to get married at a young age in the church. I just turned twenty and i really feel like a lot of people look at me like oh... not married yet... i think it is so important to get your education and now who and what you are marrying before you are just shoved into because you don't want people to look at you as an old maid. i was also just released from a calling in young womens, i really saw all the lessons from these older ladies saying how great it was to be married before they were twenty. i am not saying that its never right to marry young, i just don't think its right to put that kind of pressure on the youth to get married asap, and then feel like a failure when you don't!
  16. I would love to see the kind of person i was, and my thoughts about coming down to earth, i would love to see what i said when i was told the types of trials i would go through.

    Ideas?

Hey everyone! i just was wondering if anyone had some great advice on what i should do for my last lesson for my young women. I have really bonded with them, but the time has come for me to move on to college:( i just really wanted my last lesson to be something unique and special that shows them how much i care about them, and how they have affected my life. I would appreciate any ideas that anyone has, like a special handout i can give them or any lesson or fun activity ideas. Thanks so much!
  19. 5. I am thankful for the Book of Mormon!
  20. This is such a sad thing to have to go through. My grandmother is the same kind of person, and as my dad says even though she has done so much things to hurt him, he thinks about her life as someone who only cared about herself and manipulated and pushed others out of her life, and he feels sad for her. Even putting all the mean things that she has done to him and his brother and sisters together, it does not equal the sad and lonely life that she has lived, she has no one now, and she made it that way. I would say try and forgive her, although it would be very difficult. Holding on to the anger that comes from a situation like this does not hurt the person you are angry at it only hurts yourself. I would say just use this as an example of a person you don't want to be and try to move on the best you can. I totally agree with using the money towards something nice. best of luck!
  21. Hi i am teaching lesson 37 the word of god as a standard. i am excited to give this lesson it talks about choosing gods way over the worldly way. any ideas for object lessons in presenting this or any fun activities that go with this lesson. i really want to make this a fun lesson and one that they remember. If any youth are reading this your advice on lessons that have stuck with you would be appreciated!! Thanks! :)
  22. No thank you for posting here! really good advice:)
  23. great idea i was thinking of taking her to lunch or something, but is that somehow against church guidelines??? i am just unsure if it was looked down on hanging with the girls outside of young womens???
  24. i agree with Thirdperson, the church is absolutely perfect in everyway, but the members are not. i have come across a few members in my life who have treated people badly based on what they believe, But i think that people from other faiths can be like this too. i dont think it is because they are lds, i think that it is just who they are, and they would act the same if they belonged to any other faith. I grew up in the church as did my little sisters, one of my little sisters had a best friend who told her that she wasn't lds enough! and stopped hanging out with her. This devasted my sister, and i think that this event has influenced her in her decisions that she has made later on, to give up believing in the church. Just remember the church is perfect, and we all should be doing our best to reach out a hand of friendship to everyone, but sometimes this doesn't happen. hope that makes sense and helped at all!
  25. Flyleaf rocks! but if you haven't heard of My Chemical Romance check them out they are so awesome!
