  1. I've been noticing a small, but steady, stream of visitors to the website/blog at Chapter & Verse - LDS Game That's been very encouraging. Over the years since that post, I've been steadily developing the rules and the cards, and it's getting to be a really solid system! Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to all who've visited, and let browsers of this form know that the game is still actively in development, and I'd still welcome any testers!
  2. Hey, does anyone know the standard work that will be the curriculum for the 2011-2012 seminary school year? Thanks! Mark
  3. Cool! For a few yeas, now, I've been developing a card game based on the scripture mastery verses, called chapter and verse. You can access the rules and free downloadable print&play cards at Chapter & Verse - LDS Game. It's all still in playtest, and I'd sure appreciate any help that any readers could give in trying it out! Mark
  4. I was up waaayyy tooo late last night makin' Magic Decks. Fun, but I'm tired today. Mark
  5. My kids and I LOVE munchkin. I've also played Killer Bunnies, and that's good, but a bit confusing, too...
  6. Your username implies you're a musician. Do you really play guitar? If so, I'd love to hear any songs you've done!
  7. And, BTW, you can call me geek, nerd, or dork. I've long since learned to embrace my inner geek... :-)
  8. I love MTG, and I play it with some guys from my Elder's Quorum about once a month. I play Yu-Gi-Oh with my sons. I don't know many girls that are into either game. I've been working on a CCG/TCG based on the scriptures. It's a very time consuming process, but here are some web addresses you can check out: Login | Facebook and LDS Mormon Scripture-based collectible card game (CCG)
  9. Many, many years ago (I'm an old dude, now), I dated a nonmember girl (I lived in Indiana then). Eventually, her parents got to her and she rejected me and the church. Ouch. Looking back, however, that all worked out well. I'm still faithful, and I've been married (sealed) for 20 years, now. I was excited to read your follow-up. I'm excited that your family chose to at least listen with open minds and allow you your spiritual path rather than fight you like my old girlfriend's parents did. Now that you're baptized, I encourage you to live the Gospel as best you can. Not only will that bring you joy, but it will also show your parents that this wasn't a choice you made simply for a boyfriend. Best to you! MRKH
  10. I've seen Cakewalk Sonar, and it's great software. I, myself, use Cubase. It's great, too. I'm not sure I could really say one or the other is "better". I've been making LDS-oriented rock and pop for a long time, now, and I'm about to release a second CD. I'm so psyched! Check it out at LDS Rock Music for Mormon Youth -- free downloads - clickincome Where can we hear your music!? MRKH
  11. Also, any of the later beethoven symphonies are great. Have you looked into Christian Rock? There's some good stuff there, too. I like DC Talk, Toby Mac, Superchick, Barlow Girls, Petra, and the newest Stryper CD is KILLER! MRKH
  12. Jenny Phillips is good, but hardly the heavy stuff he might be looking for. I've been making rock (much of it with hard drums and driving guitars) for a long time. check out MarkHansenMusic.com
