Heather Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 These three guys sound amazing! I really want to take it and make a music video out of it: Quote
Truegrits Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Very nice. I would like to read the song. Quote
skalenfehl Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 (edited) I've been so touched by this song that I made it a part of my profile. My wife has a ukulele and my new mission in life is to be able to play this song. Here's a good article about the author of the song and his experience including the lyrics (for you, Truegrits), though they seem different from the above video. Maybe those guys added a few. I like the version in the first post better. The tempo and harmonizing is better but the one in the following link is nice, too. (I prefer the written word over audio.)I agree with you, that the original version with the three singers was better. Quote
skalenfehl Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 The more I dig, the more I think that the three guys are singing their own harmonized version with the added verse about Joseph Smith. I believe the two Elders in the news article are singing the original version, or at least closest to it. A word or two might be off. Quote
inthearmsofsleep Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 I have the original on a CD... and yeah, the ones in the youtube video are singing their own version. I love this song, btw. I never knew who it was by because it's on a CD I copied from a friend. Quote
Heather Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 I think this version that the three guys did is even better: Quote
Lbybug Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 i absoultely love this song!! it's one of those songs i can listen to over and over and over again. their talent is amazing. the first version posted is my favorite. Quote
teinesamoa33 Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 Here is a link to the original version being sung by the composer. Enjoy! Quote
utcowboy Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 That was way cool.... Thanks you guys for this thread, its an awesome song and very well sung by these young men. Thanks again Quote
Kahuna808 Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Although, the three guys did a good job singing this song, I still like the original version. The third verse that was added by these three guys (hopefully they asked for permission) was good but did not fit along with the whole song and the reason why was it written. The song was about the heroes of the Book of Mormon after the author read the whole book from cover to cover before his mission. Quote
ninjormon Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 I favorited this video the first time I saw it, actually it was the one of them standing Quote
