More sacred records......

I recently read that Joseph and other early leaders visited a room within Cumorah that contain lots of ancient records? Do you think that the Lord will bring forth yet more records and if so will President Monson use Joseph's Seer stone or do you think the Lord will provide another means for translation?

Side question....... Has Hill Cumorah ever been excavated? Has the stone box that contained the plates been found? Does the church own Cumorah?

I'm sure moving the contents of a cave is easy enough. :)

But, I believe it's either in JS-H or the Scriptures that it states there WILL be more records to come forth, of other peoples.

when has sort of been said. when we actually read the the scriptures we have now like we should then we will get more, until then start reading. i cant remember who said it. but i do know it was not that long ago, just in the last couple years

Additional light and truth are unlikely to come forth until we begin to live consistently by the scriptures we already have.

Cerro Vigia

LDS scholars have proposed the "Cerro Vigia" (coordinates: 18°33′N 95°11′W / 18.55, -95.183 (Cerro Vigia)) in Veracruz, Mexico, as the hill Cumorah in the Book of Mormon for a variety of reasons. John L. Sorenson has listed 15 cultural criteria (based on contextual clues from the text of the Book of Mormon) for the hill Cumorah. They are: cities, towers, agriculture, metallurgy, formal political states, organized religion, idolatry, crafts, trade, writing, weaponry, astronomy, calendar systems, cement, and wheels. He says that the hill in New York at least partly fits four of these requirements while the "Cerro Vigia" meets all of them.[16]

Based on what? What lead you to this conclution?

President Benson we big on making sure we use the scriptures we have. It taught a lot about using the book of mormon, because as a church we are still under condemnation .

(Doctrine and Covenants 84:57.)

57 And they shall remain under this condemnation until they repent and remember the new covenant, even the Book of Mormon and the former commandments which I have given them, not only to say, but to do according to that which I have written—

We know there is still the sealed portions of the Plates. They contain the History of this earth as Jesus taught it to the Nephites. (See 3 Nephi 26)

But the main part of the sealed portion is what the brother of Jared saw. This is really what the sealed portion is. This is what we wait for.

Also other nations have there own scripture, that well come forth in due time.

11 For I command all men, both in the east and in the west, and in the north, and in the south, and in the islands of the sea, that they shall write the words which I speak unto them; for out of the books which shall be written I will judge the world, every man according to their works, according to that which is written.

12 For behold, I shall speak unto the Jews and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the Nephites and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the other tribes of the house of Israel, which I have led away, and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto all nations of the earth and they shall write it.

13 And it shall come to pass that the Jews shall have the words of the Nephites, and the Nephites shall have the words of the Jews; and the Nephites and the Jews shall have the words of the lost tribes of Israel; and the lost tribes of Israel shall have the words of the Nephites and the Jews.

I truelly believe that only way we are every going to convert the rest of the world (China, Arab nations) is we end up getting more scripture that joins the LDS teachings with what those nations know.

Elder Neal A Maxwell said this in his book Not My Will, but Thine -"The existing scriptures make mention of more than twenty other books that will yet be restored (see Nephi 19:10-16) " He mentions of few of them by name but I cannot find it so I hesitate if writing it for fear of misquoting. I believe though that they will not come forth because we cannot even fully utilize and understand what we have in the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price

Who is to say we haven't been receiving more ancient documents? In the last 50 years alone we have the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Nag Hammadi Library, and thousands of other documents on clay, papyri, scrolls, metal, etc.

Not only do we have the dead sea scrolls, but the Rosetta Stone, the Ugaritic Text, the Dead sea Scrolls, the Apycropha and other such ancient documents. I am aware that there is still 1/3 of the book of Mormon that Joseph Smith had not, nor was allowed to translate. And the reason for this was to provide the saints what God wanted to reveal at that time and that until the Saints live faithful lives and adhere to the teachings of the Book of Mormon, once this happens then we would have 1/3 of the book of mormon translated.
