Wingnut Posted November 19, 2008 Report Share Posted November 19, 2008 Can someone please explain this to me? I thought that God gave up calamity as a form of punishment. Sunday school taught me that rainbows are a promise from God that he will never flood the earth again or use earthquakes/volcanoes/asteroids/tidal waves/etc. as a way to encourage humility and get us to pray differently. Is this a hearkening back to the fear of the "end times"?The rainbow was tied to the flood.
