ninjormon Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 For the meat and sugar question, this is a mental thing, if you need more protien you can eat beans and nuts, for sugar its just not good in large qantities, I work overnight too, 4 or 5 12 hourshifts a week, my solution for both protein and sugar cravings are 1 chocolate or strawberry nesquick, you get both sugar and protein/calcium at the same time and its easy to control servings 2 trail mix, easy and on the go, you crave both needs at the same time you can dink just as much milk and eat as much trail mix as you want Quote
Gwen Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 fresh blueberries.... i found a hand full of those in the afternoon made a huge difference. Quote
bmy- Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 I wasn't going to respond to this but then I had second thoughts. This is exactly what my Dad used to say to my Mom when she complained about how tired she was. I've never understood the male mindset that exercise will fix everything that ails you.Sorry bmy, but exercise isn't always tthe answer. Especially for a Mom with young children. She's getting exercise. . . by chasing kids all day. With my Mom there were undiagnosed medical issues and I'm Hoping that CountryGirl will get the evaluations whether, Medical or Alnernative, to help her overcome the changes that happen to a women's body when she's in her child bearing years.applepansyDiet and light intentional exercise will do wonders for a body. Chasing kids is 'work' and not 'play'. Having a brisk walk will not only give you time to yourself it's also good for you.Exercise isn't always the answer. But the pros far outweigh the cons and it should be #1 on everyones check list. If it doesn't work.. scratch it out. Quote

If it doesn't work.. scratch it out. I didn't say that "diet and light intentional exercise" wouldn't help. I said that it won't do what you expect until you've addressed underlying medical issues. Your argument is another I've heard before. Nevermind that you might be anemic or that your thyroid might be freaking out, diet and exercise will fix it. Restating the premise in a different more sympathetic manner doesn't change facts.Women's immune systems go on hold when they are pregnant. They're hormones change drastically. These changes set women up for a host of autoimmune problems that are not easily recognized or addressed. These issues are just now in 2008 starting to be recognized as being connected to all a woman's body goes through when pregnant. The more babies the more likelyhood of health issues. BMY, diet and exercise have its place. Exercise for fatigue is not the first line of defense. It only makes it worse and pushes women into Chronic Fatigue Immune Defiency Syndrome (CFIDS). Diet is always important! Most especially before, during and after pregnancy when women's bodies are stressed.Thank you for the opportunity to get more in depth and for reminding me that I forgot to find the book titles I was going to send someone else who is having similar issues. :) applepansy Edited December 26, 2008 by applepansy Quote

applepansy Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Me too any time feeling too tired and like to be in bed all the time ,,,,,,Age 22 is too young to feel like this. Get an appointment with your doctor. If you don't have a doctor, find one. You need to get your hormones checked, your iron levels checked and a few other things.applepansy Quote
