Greetings.

I was wondering what is the proper title of the person who presides at a Mormon worship service? Would this be "priest," "minister," or something else?

Thanks!

Now, just so you are aware they don't function like Protestant pastors, they preside over the meeting but don't do all the preaching. Usually a kid will give a short talk, followed by 2 adults. On the first Sunday of the month they have a "Fast & Testimony" meeting where all members of the congregation (called Wards or Branches) are invited to come forward and share their testimony of the church and it's teachings.

Unless they are church employees (Institute instructors etc...)

;)

Yes but we are talking about Bishops and Branch Presidents. :P

They also have 2 councilors to assist them in the work. The Bishop can delegate alot of the work load to them is he so chooses. But the bottom line is....nothing is done in the local Church without the Bishops approval....

EVERY guy is a "priest." The leader is a bishop, even though he is also a "priest" (he's a guy!!!!).

I'm thankful that the church has been restored on the earth, as it was in biblical times.
