Islander Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 As a convert, I often wondered why would somebody leave the church. I am beginning to gain some insight into such issues after 10 years of membership and a lot of work in the priesthood. However, even if the reasons are not all clear, it is just baffling that although they leave the church, they can not leave it alone. I left behind the traditions of my fathers. Some members of my family and friends are still practicing those. I love them, I pray for them but I am not constantly trying to remind them or intrude in their conversations with my "insights". Taking time to do just that is beyond comprehension.

Just_A_Guy Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Your point being what, exactly? That any Mormon who says that is a mindless automaton? Or just that experience has shown the saying to be a truism?
