abbabeffy Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 12 year PCOS veteran with a 70lb ovarian cyst turned tumor removed this summer. Saw Reproductive Endocrinologist and have been on max dose of Metformin since 1999. PCOS sucks. Okay, worse than sucks. Infertility is torture. Weight problems are crappy. Ect, ect. But in this, I have a plethora of knowledge on the PCOS subject. 12 years of internet searches and 10 years of forum searches on soulcysters.net has led me to try 1,000s of herbs and several dozen prescriptions. Nada. No babies, a bald head, hirsutism, a fat butt later... I know plenty of tricks, but it has helped me not! Quote
baver3 Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 I dont have PCOS but my best friend has it and I know others who have it. Dont give up on the idea of conceiving your own children. My BFF conceived a child and a girl in my ward just had her second child. I know other women who have it as well and althought conceiving wasnt as 'easy' as the average woman, they were still able to have children. In addition, there are drugs available and ways to control some of the symptoms so that you can get pregnant. I agree with you that adoption is a wonderful alternative but Im just saying dont give up your dream. It is possible and if Heavenly Father has a will for you to bear children, he will make it so.
