You will recall that he entered Hamelin and offered, for a specified sum of money, to rid the town of the vermin with which it was plagued. When the town leaders refused to pay him for his services, he returned to play his pipe and led the precious children away from the safety of their families and their homes, never to return. rameumptom Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 Ancient Jewish tradition teaches that there were fallen beings (sometimes angels, sometimes mortals) who were called the Watchers. They were beings who had the secret knowledge, talents and gifts of God, and used them for their own personal gain. Among these misused gifts was music, which was used by evil people to entice and corrupt. It is likely that Laman and Lemuel were using music in the same sense. And we can see how music today is also used for corrupt purposes. Quote
pam Posted April 6, 2009 Author Report Posted April 6, 2009 Look at some of the music we have out today. Specifically referring to the rappers. Words about rape, incest, murder, gangs. And our youth listen to that? And people wonder why there is an increase in youth violence today. Quote
prospectmom Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 (edited) True Pam but to be fair ther are good rappers as I have to listen to it at times that dosen't speak at all about killing... rape etc.... The really disturbing ones are the horribly heavy metal... related to KKK and hate groups... Those lyrics are dark and there is a group of satanist musicians..... I have been through the gament with the kids mine and others... I listen and not just assume...... I also have to edit songs for dances . There are some real dark bands out there and they are the ones I really worry about. Pam I do know what you mean I have heard those gang rappers too and luckily they aren't popular with my kids... Edited April 6, 2009 by prospectmom my keyboard keeps swithing letters. :} Quote
